There are three possible explanations for explaining the electromagnetic hypersensitivity (addressing non-specific symptoms to EM fields):

a) Causal relationship between symptoms and EM field exposure
b) Somatization of dreaded harmful effects ("Nocebo" effect)
c) Attribution of real symptoms, caused by other causes, effect of EM field

Jakým způsobem vyvolávají škodlivé účinky radioaktivní i mikrovlnné záření? Kromě přerušení vodíkových mostů DNA jsou to zejména nepřímé účinky vzniku volných radikálů. Působením ne-ionizujícího záření vznikají převážně urychlením fentonových reakcí a zabráněním neutralizace molekul superoxidu.

Animal models are useful for studying the effects of EM fields on the organism level. The disadvantage is limited transferability of results to other animal species due to the exposure transposition weakness (different amount of energy absorbed by the target site).

Therefore, epidemiological studies carry more weight and also make allow examining the effects of long-term exposure, but their disadvantage is a weaker causal relationship (other environmental factors may be causing observed effects).

Reviewing various types of studies provides us a more comprehensive view on the real health effects of EM fields.

Zvířecí modely jsou užitečné pro zkoumání účinků EM pole na úrovni organismu. Nevýhodou je omezená přenositelnost výsledků na jiné živočišné druhy kvůli transpozičnímu zkreslení expozice (odlišné množství absorbované energie v cílovém místě).

Větší váhu proto mají epidemiologické studie, které navíc umožňují zkoumat i účinky dlouhodobé expozice, nevýhodou je však slabší příčinná souvislost (vliv ostatních environmentálních faktorů).

Rešerší různých typů studií pak můžeme získat ucelenější pohled na reálné zdravotní účinky EM pole.

Před vydáním filmu jsem se rozhodl opět od začátku prozkoumat tu nejzásadnější otázku: "Představuje EM pole zdravotní riziko i v rámci platné legislativy?"

Ponořil jsem se do rešerše dostupné vědecké literatury a poznatky přezkoumal nejobjektivnějším postupem, který znám: Analýzou konkurenčních hypotéz – pokročilém analytickém postupu, který je doporučován Ústřední zpravodajskou agenturou pro obzvláště náročná a vysoce kontroverzní témata.

Současný stav poznání nežádoucích zdravotních účinků neionizujícího záření. Přehledná metaanalýza vědeckých důkazů minimalizuje kontroverzi tématu elektrosmog.
