I posted this in hope that it will make it to the eyes of plenty of people I would like to stay in contact with, somehow. It includes a long overdue further explanation of why I've been so quiet, all but disappearing from social media and emails.

Continued apologies to lots of people I owe messages to.

Physical pains are making lots of aspects of what I do very difficult or impossible. Arthritis is now creeping into both hands this year and it literally pains me to admit this 'out loud'. I've tried to push through regardless, but I can't keep going as I have. 8-12 hours a day working at a laptop on all my projects has become unsustainable, and it is cripplingly frustrating.

I've been at many crossroads in life, music, label, all this year. Reprioritising everything has been heavy going. Sadly I have fallen far too far behind (and been far too overwhelmed and disorganised in what I do when I get chance!) to be able to catch up, and my energy, drive, focus, mental and physical health strengths for it all has been tested and been broken, so now I figure out how to continue and what is actually possible going forward.

Now I am just doing what I can, when I can, when the pains (and my own stupid, incessant lightbulb flashing, muddled up, chaotic brain) don't get in the way; when real life, working, learning, resting and self-care allows.

I'm not done yet, far FAR from it. Those who know me at any time in the last 30 years of being musically and promoting-ly active, should know there's still a LOT to do, and I will always figure out ways to do it.. but the rest of 2024 will see continuing changes in how I go about things across all projects, as well as big periods of rest and disappearance.

Releases will still be happening steadily, but the amount of social media promotion for them has to be much lower.

One year after the release of 'Odysea Dvě', and 11 months after finishing this video and uploading, I finally wake up enough courage to share it.

I don't mind if you don't look, although I hope you do if you got this far into being here on this journey, and reading this, but I at least wanted to break the difficulties I had with putting this out there.

It includes bass playthroughs for the first two songs (I very rarely show playthroughs and never thought I would share them like this. I am nervous!), there's a live clip from Brno, animation, trippy patterns and the entire lifechanging Koyaanisqatsi film (altered a lot, of course!) with 2 tracks as its new soundtrack. There's a lot going on in half an hour.

If you didn't hear the album, it combines all sorts of styles (black metal, dbeat, doom, atmospheric, with dark ambient, dungeon synth, and even some sort of industrial techno noise cacophony in there as well!).

It was all written and recorded in a very short time, but I am still incredibly proud of this one, partly for that fact; it feels like the sum of a lot of learning and practice in my life.

It wll probably be one release I am most proud of when I get to the end of my days.

For fans of dungeon synth, noise, black metal, dark ambient, synthwave, animation, nightmares, weird stuff.
Our Haunted Planet is an excellent dark solo project from Denmark, whose first 2 releases were also shared by LOUDsilence, a label I've worked with a few times so far.
When they sent me the 3rd album, I knew I wanted to make something of a visual accompaniment for the title track, and the video uses the insomnia-laced animation 'Paranoid' by Robert Morgan from 1994.

This is a small victory/landmark that I am actually really pleased about. 1000 subscribers on YouTube for The Owl/ripper channel.

598 videos, began October 2018. Lots of time sharing it around all over the place, to get the visuals and sonics of everything and every project related spread as far as I can.

I invite submissions of any style of music, with titles that fit the theme of 'Last Afternoon Of Spring' and sounds that fit the wonderful shapes and vivid colours. (Guidelines below...)

T Bare McClough, or 'Baz' as I have known him for a couple of decades, makes some absolutely crazy, inventive, unique, intricate paintings that are often based on reality, given a makeover from supremely deep into the imagination.

This one especially grabbed and hugged my eyeballs whilst tickling the occipital lobe spectacularly, and he has kindly given permission for it to be used as a cover.

The Owls have been very quiet over the Winter, and the hibernation took some time to climb out from, but we are getting active again now.

3 shows are confirmed
7.6 in Opava (with Mayon & Illegal Illusion)

15.7 in Orlová (with Deliriant Nerve & Brain Tourniquet)
We are also arranging a weekender with Dno (from our DIY Scene Orlová family) September 6, 7 and 8. News of that soon. There will be plenty more in the gaps too.

For those who haven't seen us yet (or who have and want to refresh your memories of who we are and the noises we make!), here is a full set from October, supporting Stormo in Ostrava. It starts with the most recent new ones, plus 2 from the (still upcoming!) 'Life Changes' album.

In Imrryr's words... "The title is a line from 'The Expanse' TV show. It wasn't in the books, and this isn't an album about the show, but I love the line and it perfectly fit the ideas I was stewing on in the writing.'

A spellbinding album full of bleeps, drones and spaced out synth sounds from another planet, layered with occasional soothing fuzz and interspersed with delicate and wandering melodies brought to you by a new Warlock Co**se project. Prepare for a cosmic journey to hidden sonic dimensions, into the serene depths where the Kuldirgish hide.

"The water spirits - Kuldirgish - lurk in the very depths, so the ponds overgrown with reeds look like a serene place. The water flows slowly among the thick roots of the trees and from above you can see large fish swimming in the clear water of the river. Such a place looks serene and peaceful, and few people know, that Kuldirgish are hiding in the depths, in the yellow-gray river mud."

One sprite suddenly gets the chance to be centre stage…' - The tagline for the incredible Gobelins animation 'Phosphorus', and after knowing so many brilliant works of Imrryr and on hearing this stunningly beautiful, melancholic yet uplifting piece from the massive upcoming album made for Owlripper, I knew I had to pair them together. I hope this combining of sonic and visual tales about self-belief and resilience against oppression can take you to a higher level.

'Original title: "Mr. Bundle Urine". Urine indicates a judgment upon Mr. Bundle's head. A drawing about what it means to be a Self—a Self is multiple. Not much else is known. Life upon life. It is night and everything is conscious. The house, the moon, the tree, the clouds all watch Mr. Bundle. He is named after The Bundle theory of David Hume. In addition, he is diseased and infested.'

Willard Herman, aka Spukkopf and also of Haunted Head Recordings, has kindly given permission for this art to be used as a cover for the first in a series of compilations where the sonic submissions take influence from the art.

I hope this inspires weird, bizarre, thoughtful, unique sounds across 'Fastslowriffs Loudquietnoises Experimental Everything'.
