What a year it has been! A year of launching the online course of Konsiente, a year of becoming a certified MediaCoach to level up among adults and kids even more, a year of saying no to some big clients in order to prioritize leveling up and at the same time catering to existing social media marketing clients to maximize their full exposure and achieving their goals.

All by all it's been a tremendous year where an even stronger foundation has been build to make 2024 an incredible one. So very grateful for the unconditional support by my day 1's and the amazing support by my VA Sueene Ostiana.

Cheers everyone. May all that you wish and hope for become a reality in the new year to come.

The first 6 months of the year has been super intense! While catering to my recurring Social Media Marketing clients and giving from time to time, I was working hard on the online course for . Konsiente is my project aimed to teach adults, pr***ens and teens how to use social media safely and consciously.

The project initially started in 2018, progressed into in-person trainings to DOS school teachers in 2019, paused during COVID in 2020 and 2021 and restarted with info sessions to parents at both elementary and high schools in 2022. In 2023 my dream came true: launching the digital course of the training! 😍 My biggest wish has always been for everyone to get savvy in their use of social media as quick as possible, so we can manage the possible dangers that we might encounter when using it safely.

I couldn't have done all of this work without the assistance of my awesome VA from. The added fun in doing the marketing for it? I get to take pictures and videos with my own pr***en, , who's also learning to navigate the digital world safely, with a healthy balance. Yep, I'm practicing what I preach as well.

[REVIEW TIME] This Norwegian Salad from deserves an honest shout out!

I have to be honest, as a half portuguese girl, carbs is in my DNA and not having or having less of it has been the challenge of my life so far. The challenge does not get any easier when I see the prices of the salads on the menu when I'm eating outdoors, whether it's for pleasure or work. Most of the time the price is so ridiculously high, that after considering the value I get for the money and thinking that after 2 hours I will be hungry again, I decide not to take the salad.

This Norwegian Salad nailed it though. It was the perfect combination of romain lettuce, some cherry tomatoes, a couple of slices of cucumber, shredded carrot, red and white onion, capers, pickle, black olives, red and yellow paprika, pine nuts, boiled egg white some crab salad and smoked salmon. Just a little bit of all ingredients were added to the bowl to make it enough for a wholehearted meal. The price was Naf. 25,75, which was about the same price as the average sandwich they had on the menu, but at least this salad had a lasting filling effect. The salad was so flavorful that I didn't even need the dressing (swipe to see).

I've decided that the rest of 2023 I will restart my extra healthy eating again and work hard to make it my permanent lifestyle. So if you know of any other restaurants in Curaçao that serve nice salads at a reasonable price, tag them down below, mention the salad that you recommend and I'll try it out. And no, Naf. 30+ for a Chicken Ceasar Salad is not reasonable. I will leave an honest review of it to let you know how the journey is going and how the recommendation went down.

And p.s. this is also part of the entrepreneurial/ business woman journey: staying balanced and healthy to keep creativity up and high. And that's exactly the reason why I'm showing this on my business page as well, to share the realness of every day life challenges. With this too I shall succeed, wish me luck! 🪄🙏🏻

So, I'm throwing it back myself to December 2022 when I gave a social media marketing class to partipants of the Small Business Academy group of Qredits Curaçao.

As a it's always my pleasure to teach this group of young (future) entrepreneurs the basics of social media marketing. It's so important to establish a solid foundation even for your social media, so when you start posting and doing paid ads you're certain that your working towards achieving your business goals, through your social media marketing.

to 2 months ago when I was asked if I wanted to be part of a speed dating afternoon for HAVO/VWO 3 and VWO 4 students at . I happily accepted the invitation, despite being super busy, as I wanted to give real life insights into my path to the future professionals, something I didn't get back in my days.

As I love to keep things real I didn't sugarcoat my journey with them.

I shared how I totally disliked my Business Economics study when I was in my 3rd year but consciously decided to finish it either way so the years would not go to waist.

I conciously decided to not start any additional study, that was mandatory while I was working as an accountant at a big 4, as I didn't feel like I found my passion.

I conciously kept changing from work place. In 10 years I was employed at 5 different companies. While my work was excellent I still didn't get the satisfaction from my work and kept on searching and being in pursuit of my true passion.

It wasn't until I was let go at one of the companies due their financial crisis, in what seemed like the worse timing ever with my new born baby to feed and a mortgage to pay, that my true passion "found me".

Long story short, Crab Social was born from a hobby and almost 9 years later it's still going strong, with a lot of changes and growth. As I know a students path and ones life is never lineair I felt it was my duty to share all of these details with them in case their path is non-lineair as well.

Main message was that it IS POSSIBLE to keep searching for your calling despite what people, society or anyone says that you "must or must not do". Do your research, talk to people you trust, get advice from them, analyse them and FOLLOW YOUR GUT/ INTUITION. It's so important for them to not feel like a failure in those moments and to know that you can always change direction and that all will be well in the end with the right guidance from the best support system whether that's parents or mentors.

P.s. I did give them information about being a Social Media Consultant and the question that was asked most was: how much can you earn with it! 😅

to 2 weeks ago when I attended the 100 Women Who Care Curaçao for the 1st time.

The goal of the event is to have 100 Curaçao women meet 4 times a year, spend only one hour together, donate NAF. 100 each, which will be given to the best pitch of the night. Anyone of these 100 women can propose a good cause at the event and a representative of the project gets to pitch the cause during the event.

The project that was selected that evening was "Tanchi Suku" from Carin Schreuders. Tanchi Suku is a platform for children who suffer from diabetes type 1. Through Tanchi Suku, children receive guidance and coaching to cope with an illness that needs to be dealt with day and night. Also the parents need a place to gather and learn from each other. The illness concerns the whole family. Everyone in the family needs to adjust. That’s why we need Tanchi Suku in our community to help remind not only the children but also the families around them to cope, live a Healthy lifestyle, control blood sugar and face the future with more confidence. Bringing more knowledge about diabetes to the children and their parents will benefit the health of the children for now and the future.

My heart was full at the end of the night, listening to all of the pitches, hearing all of the good causes that are in place, and learning how the previous donation was well spend at Hospice Arco Avent.

To have business boundaries is one thing, to reinforce and stand your ground on them is a different thing.

2022 was a year of reinforcing my business boundaries even more. Boundaries but also rules about timely payment, being accessible outside of business hours, additional billing for out of scope work, you name it I've been through the reinforcement of them in these 8 years of being in business.

It takes courage to stand up against ("big") clients. It might even mean feeling the fear and reinforcing your own rule either way. The fear of losing the client, going against standard ways of doing things or even reinforcing a rule no one else but you understand. Feel it and do it either way as long as you know that it will benefit you, your peace of mind and creativity in my particular case.

And guess what, all the rules were successfully reinforced! What seemed impossible was suddenly possible, all while respect and boundaries were restored and respected. Have you ever experienced this as well?

I have to see, "smell" and FEEL my clients!

I have to be so connected to your products, service and even you as the business owner, that it becomes part of my believe system in order to be able to sell it passionately on social media.

I love how I can hop in my car and pay them e visit to get excited all over again about what they're selling and the progress they're making.

All of the above for sure gets my creative juices flowing.

Sometimes, the best thing you can do, is let a client go.

All clients I work with, I work with a very deep level of communication, understanding, honesty, respect and trust. This is a must if I'm selling your products, services or teaching you how to do so.

The moment things feel weird you should talk it out and if the weird feeling persists consider letting each other go as you're not a match (anymore) and that's OK.

I guarantee you that working together while you're not a match is very energy draining and absolutely no fun.

People change, businesses change and it's ok to move on if a situation or person is not aligned with the change at this moment.

Let them go lovingly, with the purest and kindest intentions so everyone can keep blooming the way they feel the most comfortable with.

So ask yourself, what situation should you be saying no to and letting go?

Where is your zone of genius?

The zone where you do what you do effortlessly.
The zone where everything flows smooth, without overthinking.
The zone where you get to be yourself unapologetically and authentically.
The zone you get so excited about it it gives you butterflies just thinking about it.
The zone where the passion in you sparks from your eyes, body and whole being.
The zone where overdoing it doesn't exist because you're in tune with your intuition.

Mine is when I'm teaching, coaching, mentoring and helping others bring out the genius in them, that they already have.

When I'm sharing knowledge, tips, tricks and experiences in interviews, in long or short term 1-on-1 social media coaching sessions, in social media trainings or in my program Show Up, I'm in such effortless flow that I could talk for hours and hours without getting bored, tired or having to prepare much in advance.

So I ask you again, where is YOUR zone of genius?

Sit, go deep and reflect at which moments you get the above and when you find it, do more of it!

You'll notice how everything you do brings you more joy, keeps you in balance effortlessly with your mind, body and soul and you even get more results and total satisfaction.

I am so deeply grateful for yet another successful year as a business woman and mompreneur.
