Our yungest memba and our biggest problemba - PRAKTIKAL - will be playing right before our main guest of the night, .sososo . As always, he prepped special stuff for SUTRA, some of it hinted at in the masterful recent set for . So be there, and be there early!

~~ Praktikal (FKA 7II) is a DJ and producer from Belgrade, Serbia. A long time member of the infamous SUTRA collective focused on boundary pushing, highly functional club sounds. His production & DJ sets display his unrelenting love for unorthodox rhythms, various styles and tempos, flirting with high-octane straightforward dance tracks as well as dreamy vocal filled belters. ~~

Imamo čast da beogradskoj publici premijerno predstavimo jednu od najjačih glava novije BASS muzike, koji nas, još od svojih ranih potmulih technoidnih mutacija za lejblove kao sto su Fifth Wall Records, Resin i Where To Now? oduševljava dinamikom svojih produkcija, sintetišući neke od najvitalnijih škola klupske elektronske muzike. Omiljeni producent vašeg omiljenog producenta, poslednjih godina dom mu je Batuov Timedance, gde u najboljem društvu razvija svoje prepoznatljive stompere, iščašene i nepredvidive, koji osvajaju duhovitošću i širokim rasponom kontrastnih tekstura.

We are honored to bring one of the strongest creative spirits in the new BASS music scene to the Belgrade audience for the first time! Since his early rumbling technoid mutations for labels like Fifth Wall Records, Resin, and Where To Now?, Metrist has impressed us with the dynamics of his productions, synthesizing some of the most vital schools of club electronic music. A favorite producer of your favorite producer, in recent years he has found a home with Batu's Timedance, where, in great company, he crafts his distinctive stompers—twisted and unpredictable tracks that captivate with wit and a wide range of contrasting textures.

As a DJ, Metrist takes us on a dizzying, idiosyncratic ride through the broken rhythms of UK heritage, functional, 'slapping' techno, and the sharpest sounds of the global South. A few years ago, he finally launched his own label, SOSOSO, where he explores the outer limits of contemporary jungle music—rhythmically minimal yet texturally and timbrally exceptionally rich.

We see dj-ing as this peculiar craft, where a dj is not solely an entertainer, nor is a dj purely an artist;
not entirely a creator, and not merely a selector. This fine line of "a part of / apart from", creation-through-curation is one the most intriguing aspects of it. Extremely grateful to sound art festival for giving us the opportunity to walk this line, and for having us join a respectable lineup, alongside legends like Rob Mazurek and Valerio Tricoli. This Saturday beneath the stage of in beautiful Split, our core trio of , and .sutra !

But before all that, at 6pm we'll also do something resembling a dj workshop, acting very serious pretending we know what we're doing. Betting sites seem to favor the chances of SAUD and UBICA fighting over participants actually learning anything, so come at your own risk.
