Call for Entries: She Power in Ceramic Art – Gen Z Women Ceramicists Exhibition
Preface
Women artists have long focused on expressing personal emotions and experiences in the field of art, developing unique styles in the process. An increasing number of female ceramic artists are using clay—a material with distinct characteristics—to overcome technical barriers, break through gender differences, champion independent creation, and emphasize free expression. Through the interplay of clay and fire, they convey their artistic vision and a unique perspective on the world. Their works go beyond simply expressing feminine identity and qualities; instead, through diverse creative languages, they reveal the independent spirit and cultural diversity of female ceramic artists. This exhibition aims to better tell China’s story, showcase the artistic achievements of female ceramic artists worldwide, and strengthen connections between them, bridging China and the world with a new platform for international and regional cooperation through ceramic culture. With an open perspective, evolving wisdom, and an inclusive spirit, it unites female ceramic artists globally in their efforts toward the flourishing of ceramic culture. The exhibition will focus on how female ceramic artists worldwide contribute to the inheritance and innovation of ceramic art. With a commitment to both family and career, they embody the “craftsmanship spirit” of the modern era and play a key role in the international dissemination and exchange of culture, highlighting the vital link that female ceramic artists provide in global cultural interactions.
