#MeizhouFlood Rescuers are going all out in their attempts to find and rescue people stranded by floodwater in Meizhou City of northern Guangdong, which has been hit by torrential rains. Helicopters have been sent to stricken areas to help in the search for the missing, and help relocated residents to the safety.

An international dragon boat invitation tournament kicked off in Guangzhou, on June 16, showcasing the rich cultural tradition of Dragon Boat Festival with the participation of dozens of international racing teams.
The tournament, held on a section of the Pearl River, which runs through the city, included 111 boat racing teams. Nineteen were from countries and regions including the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and overseas business organizations.
Six teams — from the cities of Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan and Zhaoqing in Guangdong, and Qingyuan and Longyan in neighboring Fujian province — also participated.
