This month, we're celebrating and focusing on women in art & design.

Living in a world that measures quantitative results in work like productivity and efficiency, increasing profits while decreasing costs, reaching sales quotas and quarterly financial targets...it's tough to put a number on something as undefinable as art and design. By nature, they are subjective, personal, based on feelings and emotions. How does one create something that's aligned with their visions and values, while also making it commercially successful in order to be able to make a living from it, and continue to create?

On Thursday, March 24th, we will dive deep into this subject with our panel discussion, then unleash our own inner artists and designers afterwards.

Join us for an introspective session as we learn from our panelists about how to take our passions and turn them into a fulfilling career, advice they have for those getting started, and more.

A truly incredible woman indeed!

Nadia Nadim fled Afghanistan when
she was 11 after her father was killed. After her family were given asylum in Denmark, she joined B52 Aalborg in 2005, and her journey began there. Now, she has scored 200 goals and played for PSG and Man City. Not just that, but she also has represented Denmark 99 times. Interestingly, she speaks 11 languages, yet last week she qualified as a doctor after 5 years of studying whilst playing football. Nadia Nadim is a true example of an incredible Afghan woman!

As you move through life, not everyone will like you, or what you are trying to achieve, but that’s okay.

Nurture a strong sense of self, and a clear purpose for what you are doing, and doors you never imagined possible will open.”

October 28 is the 2021 World Summit on Women & Girls, a virtual worldwide inter-generational dialogue celebrating the 2021 United Nations International Day of the Girl. A range of speakers will present including Sveta M. Ishoq, founder of the Chadari Project. Some of you will know Sveta from her time at Tsinghua as a Schwarzman Scholar.

This year's conference theme is "UNSCRIPTED AND UNSTOPPABLE: DIGITAL GENERATION: OUR GENERATION". The event is free but you must register in advance.

Today Sveta is a women’s rights advocate and a social entrepreneur from Afghanistan. She is passionate about women’s economic empowerment and eliminating the ‘single story’ about her home country, Afghanistan, by representing Afghanistan on national and international platforms and promoting the unheard experiences of Afghan people. Sveto writes about the promotion of women’s rights in outlets such as the Afghan Women’s Writing Project, the Anna May Project, and Star Educational Society’s Interstellar Bulletin Newspaper and blogs for UN Women and Kayhan Life.
