What does light do? It eliminates all forms of darkness. As Christians, we carry light – Christ – and that light will help eliminate darkness from the lives of many. When we are in Christ, we cannot be stopped. The light cannot be put out. Shine your light; the world needs it!

Specifically, this refers to how women dressed and cared for their hair. Then, as now, church gatherings were not an appropriate time to dress seductively or for attention. Clothing styles vary, and tastes change based on time and culture. All the same, how women (and men) dress should be appropriate for worship of God. Paul's point is not that certain hairstyles are necessarily sinful; rather, the message and the motives are. In the culture of Ephesus, braided hair was a luxurious status symbol. In that era, it required much time and financial costs. This was the equivalent of modern hairstyles requiring significant time and cost. Those who put so much energy into hairstyles suggest that their emphasis is on themselves, rather than on worshiping God.
As we observe the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, its beauty amazes us. Our Creator designed a magnificent world, and we are fascinated with every detail. Trees provide comforting shade in the summer while the rain nurtures its root system. Eagles soar with broad outstretched wings as little fish dart through the sea with brilliantly colored fins. His efficiency is spectacular, and we are honored to have a place in His plan.
Dear Lord, Forgive us when we doubt ourselves or the plan You have established for us. We will accept any task and complete all works as You will. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Trials of life are numerous, and we must look upon them with joy. It’s challenging to remain joyful during burdensome seasons, but our hardships improve our walk with the Lord. When we experience loss, we become more appreciative of what we once had and see the blessings abounding in our lives. We benefit from hurting because it gives us the ability to empathize with those who experience the same struggle. Most importantly, trials allow us to place our trust in the Lord.
