Kumba City Council Increases Budget To 5,80900,000 FCFA
Grand Councilors of the Kumba City Council, have adopted the sum of Five billion eight hundred and nine million ( 5,809,000,000 francs CFA as its budget to run the Council's activities for 2021 fiscal year.
Initially, the Council budgeted the sum of 2,100,000,000 fcfa during their last session held on December 15, 2020. But for exigencies of time and the need to transform Kumba into a modern eldorado, an additional amount of three billion seven hundred and nine million (3,709,000,000) francs cfa has been inserted in the new official budget.
This additional amount, was voted in the presence of the 2nd Assistant Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Njonje Hermia, during the mid-term Session of the City Council that took place at the City hall on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Addressing the Grand Councilors, Ntemoyork Mewanu Gregory, City Mayor of Kumba thanked all for coming despite the short notice. This he noted is a sense of oneness and patriotic adherance which demonstrates the great love of nation building as well as the full support of the Head of State in his 2035 vision.
Expounding on the exigencies to transform and make K-town great again with exquisite features, the City Mayor posited that he has had series of consultative meetings with Officials of the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM to assist in financing some major projects in Kumba.
With the brilliant presentations submitted at the FEICOM head office in Yaounde, he quipped, "the efforts have been very fruitful as FEICOM is willing to sponsor mega Projects for the city of Kumba'. For this to come to a reality, he pointed out that there was need for an additional budget to be inserted into the budget to effect the lofty projects.

Wone Bakundu Chieftaincy, Far From Over.
Dispute over Chieftaincy succession in Wone Bakundu village in Konye Sub-Division ever since the demise of the late Traditional Ruler of the village, Chief Odine has been raging on for some years now.
On onehand is the son of the late Traditional Ruler, Prince Odine Nelson and on the otherhand, Chief Njasomo Martin, who has a Prefectoral order from former Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Koulbout Amand David. Both men have been claiming succession right to the throne which has caused the village to split into two camps.
It was in this respect, the Divisional Officer for Konye, Ndep Moses Attah on Thursday April 15, 2021 embarked on a peace finding mission as to how to end the conflict over succession dispute in Wone.
After toror examination on the matter, the Divisional Officer created a Committee of 10 persons on both sides to relate to him on pertinent issues of the village until they will finally settle to select the rightful Leader and Flagbearer of the village.
The D.O also questioned on accession right to the throne, if it is Heriditary or Rotatory. He was told by the eldest Traditional Ruler of the area, Chief Mukanya of Kumbe that Chieftaincy succession in the Bakundu land is Heriditary.
Ever since Chief Njasomo Martin, school Bursar of Cameroon College of Arts and Science Kumba took over, there had been tension in the village between those supporting him and those advocating for the son of the Late Traditional Ruler, Nelson Odine. To those supporting Nelsons they claimed, he is from the Bodongo family who are the rightful successor's to the throne.
Amongst the 36 villages in Konye, Chieftaincy succession right since the dead of Chief Nelson has been a hardnut to crack. Ndep Moses Attah is the 3rd Divisional Officer for Konye to face the hot issue after Mbotiji Houtison Babila and Ekole Blessed Epimba.
