The Player Who Rejected Cameroon For Ever.

His international career with the Indomitable Lions from 2010-2015 witnessed him win 27 caps scoring 1 goal.
Joel MATIP scored Cameroon's only goal at the 2014 World Cup. Thanks to his goal against Brazil, Cameroon returned home with 00 points and 1 goal scored. If not, it would have been a big dross of a participation 00 points, 00 goals.

Matip turned his back on Cameroon following a scandalous World Cup 2014 expedition in Brazil facilitated by poor leadership and epileptic FECAFOOT management.

All multiple negotiations to have the Germano Cameroonian player changed his mind were futile until he retired from Professional Footballer.

Quick reminder, Cameroon's 2014 FIFA WC was marred by total disagreement in the dressing room with reports of the captain dectating all policies.

Karl Toko Ekambi is populary known for his blida fast and furious display which in 5 seconds secured a place for the Indomitable Lions at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The inspirational forward disappointed with the management of the team by the Cameroon Football Federation was forced to retire at the age of 31 shortly after the African Cup of Nations 2023 in Còtedévior and focus on his club career.

Samuel Eto’o: The Indomitable Lion of Football🌟⚽

Samuel Eto’o Fils, born on March 10, 1981, in Douala, Cameroon, is widely regarded as one of the greatest African footballers of all time. His journey from the streets of Douala to the pinnacle of world football is nothing short of inspirational.

Eto’o’s football career began at the Kadji Sports Academy in Cameroon. His talent was evident early on, and at just 16, he was signed by Real Madrid. Although he struggled to find playing time at Madrid, loan spells at Leganés, Espanyol, and Mallorca helped him develop his skills and gain valuable experience.

In 2000, Eto’o made a permanent move to Mallorca, where he became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 70 goals. His performances caught the attention of FC Barcelona, and in 2004, he joined the Catalan giants. At Barcelona, Eto’o formed a formidable attacking trio with Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi. He won three La Liga titles and two UEFA Champions League trophies, scoring in both the 2006 and 2009 finals.

Eto’o’s success continued at Inter Milan, where he became the first player to win back-to-back trebles (domestic league, domestic cup, and UEFA Champions League) with two different clubs. His time at Inter further cemented his legacy as one of the game’s greats.

After his stint in Italy, Eto’o played for several clubs, including Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea, Everton, and Sampdoria, before finding prolific form again in Turkey with Antalyaspor. He eventually retired after a brief spell at Qatar SC.

On the international stage, Eto’o was a key player for Cameroon. He earned 118 caps and scored 56 goals for the national team. Eto’o helped Cameroon win two Africa Cup of Nations titles (2000 and 2002) and an Olympic gold medal in 2000. His goal-scoring prowess made him a beloved figure in Cameroonian football.

Eto’o’s impact extends beyond his playing career. In 2021, he was elected president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, where he continues to contribute to the development of football in his home Although his time as FA president has been marked with alot of controversies , Samuel Eto'o remains a football Legend.

“I remember one time when we went to play Kazan in the Champions League. In that match I had all my strikers injured. No Diego Milito, no Samuel Eto’o, I was really in trouble and Mario was the only one.

Mario got a yellow card in minute 42 or 43, so when I got to the dressing room at half-time I spend about 14 minutes of the 15 speaking only to Mario.

I said to him: ‘Mario, I cannot change you, I have no strikers on the bench, so don’t touch anybody and play only with the ball. If we lose the ball no reaction. If someone provokes you, no reaction, if the referee makes a mistake, no reaction. Mario - please’.
