Statement From H. E Tibor P. Nagy
Former Assistant Secretary of State - USA 🇺🇸

"I am most grateful for your kind invitation to attend today’s remembrance and greatly regret not being able to join with you, so I’d like to write this brief note about my great respect for John. I would also like to tell you that my friend, Ambassador Frances Cook, joins me in expressing her great respect for John and sadness at his passing and extends her sympathies to his family and friends.
I met John soon after I arrived in Cameroon in 1990 as Deputy US Ambassador during my first visit to Bamenda and quickly built a great respect for his striving for democracy – not just for the Anglophone Community – but for all Cameroonians. We later became friends. He suffered greatly for his efforts and the Biya regime did everything to obstruct his goals to expand the rights and freedoms of the people. It was largely due to John’s persistence and indefatigability that the Biya regime eventually accepted allowing other political parties to exist and to participate in the 1992 presidential elections. I still remember the massive show of support for John just before the elections when One Million people turned out for his last rally in Yaoundé. During the elections, our embassy team served as observers around Cameroon – I myself visited a number of polling places in Yaoundé and was very surprised to find the level of support for John, even in places which normally would have been bases of support for Biya (such as military barracks). When the election results were announced that Biya won by a very small margin, my very strong personal belief was – and remains – that John was the rightful winner. I also believe in my heart that someday documents will be made public from a certain country showing exactly that.

After the elections, the nation was in turmoil and John was more or less under house arrest in Bamenda. I visited him in the name of the United States of America to try and impr

Ibrahim Traoré, 35, is the world's youngest national leader 🇧🇫

Before becoming junta chief of Burkina Faso, Traoré was a student of geology, and he later attended Georges Namonao Military School.
The then-34-year-old rose to power after a coup d'etat in September 2022 that forced former leader Paul-Henri Damiba out of power. Supporters of the coup cited Damiba's inability to deal with jihadist forces as the motivation for his removal.

Ibrahim Traoré was born in Bondokuy, Mouhoun Province, in 1988. After receiving his primary education in Bondokuy, he attended a high school in Bobo-Dioulassowhere he became known as being "quiet" and "very talented". From 2006, he studied at the University of Ouagadougou where he was part of the Association of Muslim Students. He graduated from the university with honors.

Traoré joined the army of Burkina Faso in 2009, and quickly began to climb the ranks. He was sent to Morocco for anti-aircraft training before being transferred to an infantry unit in Kaya, a town in Burkina Faso's north.

Promoted to lieutenant in 2014, Traoré joined MINUSMA, a United Nations peacekeepingforce involved in the Mali War. In 2018, he was cited as one of the MINUSMA soldiers who "showed courage" during major rebel attacks in the Tombouctou Region.

He subsequently returned to Burkina Faso where he assisted in operations against the escalating jihadist insurgency. Traoré fought in the "Otapuanu offensive" of 2019 and several other counter-insurgency operations in the country's north. He was promoted to captain in 2020.

The name Africa came into Western
use through the Romans, who used
the name Africa terra — "land of the
Afri" (plural, or "Afer" singular) — for
the northern part of the continent, as
the province of Africa with its capital Carthage, corresponding to modern-
day Tunisia. The origin of Afer may either come
from: -the Phoenician `afar, dust;
-the Afri, a tribe—possibly Berber—
who dwelt in North Africa in the
Carthage area;
-the Greek word aphrike, meaning
without cold; -or the Latin word aprica, meaning
sunny. The historian Leo Africanus
(1495-1554) attributed the origin to
the Greek word phrike (φρικε,
meaning "cold and horror"),
combined with the negating prefix a-,
so meaning a land free of cold and horror. But the change of sound from
ph to f in Greek is datable to about the
first century, so this cannot really be
the origin of the name. Egypt was considered part of Asia by
the ancients, and first assigned to
Africa by the geographer Ptolemy (85
- 165 AD), who accepted Alexandria
as Prime Meridian and made the
isthmus of Suez and the Red Sea the boundary between Asia and Africa. As
Europeans came to understand the
real extent of the continent, the idea of
Africa expanded with their
knowledge.

The Chinese government have Shut down the LGBTQ+ right centre in China 🇨🇳.

Funny enough but not surprising the West have not condemned or lay any sanctions on them. But when it comes to Uganda or Iran you'll see their media saying every ill thing to us.

I don't blame the West, I blame any Afrikan leader that comprises on our stand against the menace. Afrikan leaders that approve this things are puppets of the West or are Sellout.

The Future is bright because nobody can decide for us, our only problems are the future puppets, hypocrites and Sellout that claims to be humane or civilzed above our Afrikan cultures/traditions.

They won't be a problem though, we know to well how to handle them now. Continue preaching the gospel of Pan Afrikanism ☥️

I like to honor great Africans on their birthday with a tribute here, on Facebook. Today, on his 61st birthday, it is a great honor to pay respect to the tireless Patrick Loch Otieno (P.L.O.) Lumumba.

P.L.O. Lumumba is the preeminent Pan-African today, an example for every man, not just African. A role model to many, including myself, his instinct is United Africa, African solutions to African problems. His instinct is justice and an honest approach to fight corruption. (😉)

A lawer, a gifted speaker, he clearly, slowly, and convincingly presents his case. His speeches are moving, if you have not seen any, please do! ( the 2015 PAVA forum in Uganda is a great one)

His vision of Unification is beautiful, one of morality, justice, and self sufficiency. The idea, the plan for a Unified Africa, the ideals of Pan-Africanism he adresses, should be stamped on the hearts of all mankind, not just Africans. It will take a sustained effort, self-awareness, and a lot of hard work.

Founder of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, The Association of the Citizens Against Corruption, and Movement for Dialog and Non-Violence, PLO Lumumba backs up his words with positive action.

He carries the torch of the greats: Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, and Thomas Sankara. Who is his equal as a Pan-African? Is there anyone alive today who is as synonymous with Africa United?

It's true when it is said "One's name remains above the grave" and "It is possible to kill a man, but it is impossible to kill his name." Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba has lived up to his namesake, and that was a nearly impossible feat.

To you, Honorable PLO Lumumba, many, many more!
Happy Birthday from African Positive Unity.

"The tragedy of Africa is that Africans are in the business of cannonizing thieves and demonizing its saints."

"You can't elect hyenas and expect them to take care of the goats."

Happy Birthday 67th Birthday Thomas N'kono! 🧤🇨🇲

In the realm of football, heroes are often celebrated for their goal-scoring prowess or mesmerizing skills on the field.

However, there exists a special breed of heroes who stand tall between the posts, safeguarding their team's hopes and dreams. One such hero is Thomas N'kono, the legendary Cameroonian goalkeeper whose quality and heroics have left an indelible mark on the beautiful game.

N'kono's tactical prowess was unparalleled during his prime years. He possessed an innate ability to read the game, anticipate opponents' moves, and position himself flawlessly between the goalposts. His agility and lightning-fast reflexes allowed him to make seemingly impossible saves, earning him the nickname "The Indomitable Wall."

He earned memorable performances during the 1982 and 1990 FIFA World Cup held in Spain and Italy respectively with his mind-blowing saves that helped Cameroon progress in both competitions.

He possessed an unwavering belief in himself and his team, which often inspired those around him to perform at their best. His leadership qualities were evident both on and off the field, making him a revered figure among his teammates.

He became an influential figure in football, inspiring a new generation of goalkeepers across the continent. His success paved the way for the likes of Buffon:

"I was hypnotized by Thomas Nkono. It was what he did for Cameroon during the 1990 World Cup that made me want to become a goalkeeper myself"

Joseph-Antoine Bell and Carlos Kameni followed in his footsteps and kept the legacy of Cameroon producing great goal Keepers over the years

His legacy transcended to his coaching career which earned Cameroon a golden medal in the Sydney Olympics.

Below are some of his achievements:

🏆CAN
👑👑 African Golden Ball
🏆🏆 African Cup of Champions (Clubs)
🏆 African Cup Winners' Cup
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 Champion of Cameroon
🏆🏆 Champion of Bolivia

16/07/2023

Water in Africa is an important issue encompassing the sources, distribution and economic uses of the water resources on the continent. Overall, Africa has about 9% of the world's fresh water resources and 16% of the world's population.Among its rivers are the Congo, Nile, Zambezi, and Niger, and also has Lake Victoria, considered the world’s second largest lake. Yet the continent is the second driest in the world, with millions of Africans still suffering from water shortages throughout the year.Currently, the most important water-dependent sector in Africa is agriculture, which forms the bedrock of most economies of African states. Both rain-fed and irrigated agriculture are important job-providing sectors in all African countries. The role of agriculture as the main source of employment is decreasing in many African countries as a sustained growth in many economies is leading to increasing standards of living, improved education and the occurrence of rapid rural-urban migration of educated youth in search of white collar jobs. However, for the foreseeable future agriculture will still be a major source of employment, especially in non-oil producing African states. There is a rising paradox of increasing unemployment in the rapidly urbanizing cities and towns of Africa: labour shortages in rural areas are leading to significant reduction in food production and increased dependence of many African countries on food imports.

The 2023 African Golden Ball or Ballon d'or will certainly be a Cameroonian.

Choupo Moting Éric Maxim was decisive 22 times in 33 games and won the Bundesliga, eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, he has a chance of winning this trophy!

Aboubakarar Vincent has been decisive more than 21 in over 30 games without forgetting his magnificent performance in the World Cup, he too has every chance for this title.

Andre Onana didn't score a goal but he's probably the best African goalkeeper in Europe this season he's been tenured 45 times and has made more than 19 games without taking a single goal. Winner of the Italian Cup and finalist of the UEFA Champions.

He is undoubtedly the undisputed favorite to win the African ball after finishing the champions league as the goal keeper with the most saves and clean sheet.

...AND DARKNESS COVERED THE LAND⚫🇨🇲

On this day, June 26th, in 2003, Marc-Vivien Foé passed away against Colombia in what remains the darkest day in Cameroon's football history!

It was the first semi-final match of the 2003 Confederations Cup, and a historic first for the Indomitable Lions. The golden generation was in the apogee of its powers following two consecutive AFCON titles, and was poised to correct the errors of the 2002 World Cup.

Coach Winfried Schäfer lined up Kameni in goal; Tchato , Song, Djanka and Mettomo in defence; Foé, Geremi, Djemba and M'bami in midfield; and Idrissou and Ndiefi in attack , in the absence of Eto'o who had returned to Spain to play the Copa del Rey final with Mallorca.

As early as the 9th minute, Idrissou headed a cross onto the path of Ndiefi who steered it into the Colombian net to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The game, however , had a strange feel to it. It was dull and hardly fluid and there were several strong challenges. Foé bossed the midfield as he had done in previous games, and in the second half, he made a phenomenal 180-degree turn and unleashed a diagonal that set Njitap one on one with Colombian keeper Cordoba. Unfortunately, Njitap could not score Cameroon's 2nd.

Colombia played very physical, and Foé emptied his tank from box to box, to wear them out. He burned out even more after Tchato was shown a red card, leaving a hole in defence. After the 70th minute mark, Foé could be seen placing his hands on his knees as if to catch his breath. Then moments later, he collapsed, breathing heavily in the centre circle– the very place where he was king and in the very stadium where he was adored while playing for Lyon. He was attended to and stretchered off looking unconscious, and the game continued.

Colombia would press and even hit the post twice, but victory would be Cameroon's. At the sound of the final whistle, the Lions had made history but there wasn't enough life in their celebration
