Discovery: OKAWA SHAZNAY.

Here is Okawa Shaznay. She is the first Cameroonian to successfully break into Nollywood Industry.

She hails from Bamenda, North West Region Of Cameroon and successfully penetrated the NollyWood industry with her role in the blockbuster movie Iyore starring Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin.

Also, Okawa Shaznay gained more prominence with her leading role in the 2016 hit TV series Delilah: The Mysterious Case of Delilah Ambrose. This earned her the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) award for TV Actress of the year in 2016. This was for her role in this TV series.

She has been one of the most aired faces on AFRICA MAGIC SHOWCASE for years now.

The public didn’t know she was Cameroonian till last year when she consistently showed support for the Indomitable lions of Cameroon during the World Cup tournament. Many thought she was Nigerian and some even thought she was Ghanaian.

She originates precisely from Oshie in Momo Division and she’s a proud one at that. She did her secondary school education in Presbyterian Secondary School Mankon, Bamenda before later moving to the United States. There, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas Southern University.

University Lecture on Peace in Africa

The University Lecture on Peace in Africa is a youth led initiative of young people, implemented by young people for young people.

The project was founded by a dynamic team of young people in the University of Buea. It seeks to counter youth radicalization across Africa by equipping young people with skills, knowledge, tools, experiences and a network to work in synergy and promote peacebuilding.

Facilitators and participants make use of lectures on peace, debates, choral singing, music, slogans, critical thinking and non-violent alternatives to acquire skills in peacebuilding.

Following the participation of young people from Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon in the first, second, third and fourth editions of the program, they decided to host a Pass it on activity on Saturday the 29th of April 2023 in Amphitheater 340 of the University of Bamenda.

Young people resident around Bamenda who are passionate about contributing their quota in peacebuilding and desire to acquire skills/knowledge in this space are invited to apply.

Why Libianca 🇨🇲 needs more Remixes & covers for "People" to be reach bigger platforms.

"ESSENCE" kept Wizkid's🇳🇬 name at the top for two years.

"Love nwatiti" did the same for Ckay🇳🇬and since then, none of them has had a hit again but their names are still very much relevant because the songs penetrated deep!

'Love Nwatiti' & 'Essence' are the longest-charting Afrobeats songs on Billboard Hot 100 (the most influential chart in the world) what pushed the songs there ?.

It's not 'GRACE' ( grace is not a currency in the music industry) and the system is designed to k!ll your grace.

They used a strategy and Libianca is using similar "Target Big & influential music markets Through remixes".

When "Essence entered Top 50 on Billboard Hot 100, Wizkid released a Remix for the song featuring Justin Bieber which pushed both songs to Top 10 on the chart ( first Nigerian song to ever enter Top 10 on hot 100.

WizKid later released a deluxe version of his album "Made in Lagos" which extended the run of 'Essence' & it's a remix on the chart for weeks & also pushed his deluxe version of made in Lagos to the Grammys ( Grammy nomination).

For Ckay, he released an acoustic version, an official remix, Southern Africa, central Africa, east Africa, west Africa, and a north African Remix for 'Love Nwatiti and 'Love Nwatiti' was still in his debut album.

'Love Nwatiti' is my third most successful African song ever ( 1. magic System - Premier Gaou, 2. Master KG - Jerusalema, 3. Ckay - Love nwatiti)

So with these things above, you'll agree with me that Libianca needs more Remixes to the song for it to reach its full potential and mark her name on all the big platforms in the world.

"Kwaku the traveller" by Black Sheriff🇬🇭would've gone further if it had remixes but see where it ended.

It's not wise for an artiste to leave a globally accepted song like this and rush to release new songs with no guarantee that it'll blow.

"people" is successful to an extent yes

The Legacy of Lapiro de Mbanga, 9 years after his death

One of Cameroon’s most well-known musicians, who sang truth to power and ended up spending three years in prison for standing for a better country, passed very tragically 9 years ago today.

Lapiro de Mbanga, officially known as Lambo Sandjo Pierre Roger, passed away in exile on March 16, 2014, in Buffalo, New York, in the United States.

Some of the issues that Lapiro de Mbanga challenged in his music ranged from Paul Biya’s one-man show style of governance; poor governance and a lack of basic amenities; unemployment and the degradation of Cameroon education; insecurity, and the use of imprisonment as a form of intimidation by the Biya regime; and the constitutional change that saw Biya become eligible for life as president.

One of the most outstanding moments of Lapiro’s career was when he released the song “Constipated Constitution” which was banned when it became the 2008 protest movement’s anthem.
