domizil started up in 1996 on the initiative of Marcus Maeder, who was soon joined by Bernd Schurer. domizil sees itself as a platform for coordination, presentation, production, interchange and cooperation, focusing mainly on publishing and distributing the work of our network of artists - be it online or as record releases, live media, or through the organization of events. From our first releas

e, domizil has been poised for an in-depth exploration of digital culture, its sounds, methods and its social context. Our artistic focus lies on sonic art and all the facets of its digital practice today, and we're trying to link the work of our artists to the many different artistic genres. domizil is is organized as an association and is recently directed by Marcus Maeder and Thomas Peter; Jolanda Gsponer is secretary.

Thomas Rohrer: Tamangur

"Tamangur": a journey, a personal voyage in listening, an audio-trip in search of poetic potential in field recording by itinerant musician Thomas Rohrer, in Brazil and Switzerland between 2010 and 2018. The presented tracks cast a resonant sonic net between South American and Swiss soundscapes, jointly creating contingent realities that form a diaphanous yet riveting transatlantic narrative. Thomas Rohrer’s Tamangur takes us from a Brazilian indigenous Krahô village to windy, alpine cowbell hillsides in Switzerland, and farther afield.

Tamriko Kordzaia: sieben sonnengesichter.

"sieben sonnengesichter." is a 90-minute work by the composer Klaus Lang, played by Swiss-Georgian Pianist Tamriko Kordzaia. Its seven parts start from an elementary tonal basic structure, namely the scale of the white keys (and their shadow, the black keys). Just as one can look at a visual object from different angles, and the lengths of the object's shadows change its visual impression depending on the time of day, the piece presents the tonal material from different listening angles and with different shadows: changing temporal distortions of the same sound result in analogy to the spatial distortion of light.
