The Zurich Jam Session by La casa de nadie has once again proven why it’s becoming the heart and soul of the city’s music scene. Last Sunday’s event, featuring the electrifying Tercer Pulso Trio, was nothing short of extraordinary.

The evening began with the mesmerizing performance of the Tercer Pulso Trio, led by the virtuoso guitarist Pablo Miguez. The trio’s vibrant fusion of Afro-Peruvian rhythms, salsa, cumbia, and jazz filled the room with an infectious energy. Joined by Aurelio Espinoza on e-bass, Freddy Benitez on drums, and special guest Didier Espinosa on vocals and percussion, they set the tone for a night of musical magic.

Born in Cali, Colombia, and raised in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, Freddy is a gifted rhythm artist with a unique musical journey. He began by playing improvised instruments before developing his talent through self-teaching and formal training. With a Bachelor’s in Jazz Instrumental Music and a Master’s in Music Education from Lucerne University, Freddy now teaches at the Music School of Zurich and shares his passion for Latin rhythms through workshops and live performances.

🎶 Spotlight on Didier Espinosa: Kicking Off the Zurich Jam Session this Sunday🎶

A charismatic lead vocalist and percussionist, Didier Espinosa hails from Cali, Colombia. He studied Theatre Arts at the University of Valle and Industrial Engineering at the Cooperativa de Colombia University. With experience in renowned Colombian orchestras like Orquesta Oro Latino and Escencia Orquesta, he skilfully alternates between percussion and vocals. Didier is a key member of Barrio Central, Zurich’s acclaimed salsa band, and the founder and director of Encántigo, a music collective active in Zurich.​​​​​​

Founded in early 2024 by La casa de nadie, the Zurich Jam Session provides a family friendly space for musicians and music lovers to come together in a spirit of respect and openness, and to connect through the universal language of musical improvisation.

Each session kicks off with a concert featuring exceptional artists from diverse backgrounds, setting the stage for a Sunday afternoon of musical exploration and discovery.​ Coming up, on November 24: Zurich Jam Session 8-24: Ekute Le Trio.​

​After the concert, the event seamlessly transitions into a lively jam session, where the performers from the opening act in, collaborating with other musicians to create spontaneous, unique musical moments. Audience participation is welcome, so feel free to bring your instruments and join the fun!
