It is time we unify our voices and really speak up. For those of us that are able to vote in the US, THIS IS THE TIME TO USE YOUR VOICE.

We all watched the presidential debate yesterday, and it was a disgrace. The most shameful part of which is the feedback to the question of the “Israel-Gaza war” which American media anchors refuse to call it as it is: A Genocide.

Harris, the democratic candidate, showed NO TANGIBLE PLAN or even intention to stop the genocide, in fact she re-iterated her support to Israel. That, in it of itself, is unacceptable. And we cannot give her our votes with this position! We have to rally to change that. Adding, that during the current presidency, which Harris is its VP and have clearly showed her intentions to continue the current administration’s approach on most issues, we have witnessed THE CRUMBLING OF ALL DEMOCRATIC VALUES in the US: i) institutionalising censorship - through Congress sponsoring legislation to silence those speaking to stop the genocide - not to mention the silencing on college campuses and more; ii) allowing dark money to play a role in removing our honourable and popular legislators: more than 35 million dollars were spent by pro-Israeli groups to defeat TWO PROGRESSIVE BLACK members of Congress whom advocated for the righteous positions; iii) the disregard of the democratic process to seek Congress’ approval for sending arms or money to Israel; iv) the disregard of US domestic laws that serve to ensure arms sent are not violating Human Rights - which clearly is not the case with Israel; and v) the ignoring of expert opinions within the the State Department which resulted in several members of staff resigning. Furthermore, vi) her candidacy, in it of itself, is omitting the democratic process, where democrats DID NOT get to vote for her in primaries, she was just pushed on us. If we truly care about the US democracy, American civil rights, democratic freedoms, and more, then WE CANNOT GIVE HER OUR VOTES.

On the other hand, we all know Trump’s approach to presidency. HOWEVER, Trump didn’t mention any of those plans during the debate. Furthermore, when asked about the “Israel-Gaza War” or more accurately the Genocide on Gaza, he said he wouldn’t have started the war… but unfortunately didn’t expand and diverted to other issues. This is a STRONG indication that he’s shifting slightly, but not enough, to win our votes, which means OUR VOTES THIS TIME are MORE VALUABLE than ever and CAN sway the results.

So IT US OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO USE OUR VOTES WISELY. It is time we speak up loud and clear for what we truly believe in. We should pledge to ONLY GIVE OUR VOTES to the candidates that call for stopping the genocide, or in US policy terms, ceasefire. And as of now, it is only third party candidates, and the stronger candidate of which is Jill Stein. This pledge will give us NEGOTIATING POWER to STOP THE GENOCIDE in Gaza, which is now extending to the West Bank.

Don’t underestimate the power of your voice, and let’s all use our voices to promise victory for the candidate that stops the genocide. We can sway the results.

Pledge to dedicate your voice to STOP THE GENOCIDE and preserve US democracy for our own benefit in the US and abroad.

“Learn the lessons of history: they say those colours represent terror, but they said that about the Kenyans and about Indians. They said it about South Africans and about the heroic people of Vietnam.

When the poorest and most oppressed and most exploited people in the world say: we want to be free; they say: you’re terrorists. We say: it’s a projection; we say: colonial power which brutalises and savages all over the world calls other people savages. The only savages are the people in the offices and the headquarters of corporations and states in London and Washington who plan massacres all over the world.

We say: the Palestinian flag represents human freedom” Barnaby Raine.

Today, on the US Thanksgiving holiday, the Native Americans mourn for the loss of their ancestral land. The US holiday plays a part in erasing the real history of colonisation and ethnic cleansing of that land. But Monro and other members of the United American Indians of New England (UAINE) lead a ceremony to honor that real history and revive the true story. They gather in Plymouth, Massachusetts to hold their National Day of Mourning.

Indigenous leader Mahtowin Monro speaks about how the National Day of Mourning offers a corrective to US settler myths.

The pretext of colonialism was always: “get off your land or die.” We’ve seen it with Native Americans, Aboriginal Australians, and many more. Today we re-watch it clearly with Palestinians.

"Canada forced more than 150,000 First Nations, Inuit, and Metis children to attend residential schools between the late 1800s and 1990s. The children were stripped of their languages and culture, separated from siblings, and subjected to psychological, physical and sexual abuse. Thousands are believed to have died while attending the institutions, which were run by various churches, most notably the Roman Catholic Church."

“'Nature protects us as long as we protect nature,' writes Hernandez, who is now a 31-year-old postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Washington. 'Ancestral knowledge has been sustained in our communities,' she added in an interview. 'It’s a valid form of knowledge that isn’t necessarily validated through the Western ways, like publications and books.' This kind of knowledge forms the basis of Indigenous science, Hernandez says, that is crucial to caring for the Earth.

Nature conservation needs a transformation, according to a new book by environmental scientist Jessica Hernandez.

"All except the United States. ..
The U.S. has an incredibly rich heritage of Indigenous languages ranging from Anishinaabe to Cherokee, Navajo to Tewa. But they are almost all endangered, in part because the U.S. spent two hundred years and $2.81 billion trying to destroy them. The infamous federal boarding schools of the 19th and 20th centuries taught English, Christianity, and manual labor, as part of a program to “assimilate” Indians into mainstream society. Lessons were enforced through violence. Some children reported teachers (or priests) sticking pins in their tongues if they spoke their own languages. After hundreds of children’s graves were discovered on school grounds in 2021, Secretary of the Interior Debra Haaland formed the Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative to investigate this 'troubled history.'”

The International Decade of Indigenous Languages starts in two weeks, the same period during which experts predict another language will die or go dormant. If the U.S. will not lead, it is at least time to join the global commitment to Indigenous Peoples’ languages.
