My Passion for Amateur Radio, the Adventure of the Waves

I am passionate about amateur radio, a fascinating hobby that allows me to communicate with people around the world through radio. My callsign, HB9HBY, is my gateway to connecting with other radio enthusiasts, whether they are just a few kilometers away or on the other side of the globe.

The concept is simple: using radio equipment, I exchange messages with people worldwide, often in challenging conditions like mountains or at sea. What makes this hobby unique is the ability to communicate without the internet, using radio frequencies. Morse code, which was once a historic method, is still part of this world, but today it's more about the technology and the exchanges.

It’s like a treasure hunt, but without a map—just the waves and a bit of luck! Each conversation is a new adventure, a new discovery. And beyond the exchanges, it also allows me to participate in global events, competitions, or even contribute to emergency communications.

For me, being an amateur radio operator is much more than just playing with equipment – it’s a true passion for technology, challenges, and human connection through the waves.
