MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR POLICE SERVICE DOG TAZ

WOODSTOCK, ON (July 26, 2023) – The Woodstock Police Service is hosting a private memorial service for Woodstock Police Service Dog (PSD) Taz who was killed in the line of duty on July 3, 2023. The memorial will take place for police personnel, family and friends on August 1, 2023 at the Reeves Community Complex (381 Finkle Street, Woodstock).

The public is invited to line the roadway of Finkle Street between Southside Park and the Community Complex to show their support and observe the procession of K9 Units and police personnel marching to the complex. The procession will begin at 11:00 a.m. from Southside Park and the service will follow at the Community Complex. Parking will not be available to the public at Southside Park, Finkle Street or the Community Complex as these areas will be closed off and reserved for those attending the memorial service.

Rogers will be airing the service for the public to view on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. The Woodstock Police Service will be streaming the procession live on Facebook for members of the public not able to attend in person.

Media personnel looking to cover the service will be invited to set up down on the team benches in the arena.

The Woodstock Police Service would like to express sincere gratitude to the community as they continue to demonstrate their support during this difficult time.
