In the beginning...
The first step in any journey is learning how to walk. This is my journey to become a podcaster and to introduce the new version of Pyr8z. Pyr8z 2.0, I suppose.
Pyr8z started as a simple idea to create an online radio station back in 2008. The original format was to be a home based studio webcasting audio streams of music and shows. This morphed into a more ambitious comedy show about a dysfunctional group of pirate radio jockey’s running an illegal station.
I ran with this idea. I had a lot of help and support along the way as the idea moved from my brain to paper. Flash forward to 2010 and we were casting for a web show based on this idea. We shot some promos, an Indigogo campaign, got a cast and crew together and tried to make it work. However, schedules and money kept failing us and the idea eventually got parked in the back of the garage with a tarp over it and the promise to return one day.
Eight years later, with the rise of Podcasting and my interest in delving into this medium, I removed the tarp and dusted off the old idea. I thought that maybe we can start again by making Pyr8z into an audio show in the format of a podcast. That would certainly be easier to manage and less expensive to produce. Maybe I just need to take it one little step at a time.
