From the Attic – Ep. 7: Anthony OKS
WATCH: 📺 Anthony OKS' From the Attic session is now live.
Where hip-hop, pop and soul coalesce, the chameleonic Anthony OKS expresses a myriad of modes, spitting wild rhymes one minute and flexing his singing muscles the next. With a full band elevating the vibe, the artist offers a bountiful entry into the series.

From the Attic – Ep. 6: Amos the Kid
WATCH: 📺 Amos the Kid’s From the Attic session is now live.
With clever wordsmithing and a knack for infectious melodies, laidback singer-songwriter Amos Nadlersmith transmits his comforting tunes like an open-armed embrace. A union of warped country, folk and indie-rock, Amos the Kid surfs somewhere in the oasis between. Hear Amos and his band perform songs from their highly anticipated debut album, Enough as It Was, out now via House of Wonders.

From the Attic – Ep. 5: Bloc Parents
WATCH: 📺 Bloc Parents' From the Attic session is now live.
Fronted by members of Novillero and The Sorels, and rounded out (a circle with a sharp edge) by two Windups, Bloc Parents had their start as a one-off tribute to L.A. band X. Self-penned tunes that subscribed to that same dual vocal dynamic eventually followed. A mod/power pop foundation stone thrown into a post-punk well. Ahead of the band’s debut release, hear them serve up some freshly baked tunes.

From the Attic – Ep. 4: Claire Thérèse
WATCH: 📺 Claire Thérèse’s From the Attic session is now live.
An accomplished singer-songwriter, Claire Thérèse crafts songs with a quiet intensity, turning ordinary observations into vivid portraits while using voice and piano as the lens through which she focuses all of it. Usually backed by her band, here she performs an intimate set with her sister, Ellen Grace Friesen, sharing both unreleased solo tunes and a spirited array of songs from her recent album Villainy! by Claire Thérèse and the Lockdown.

From the Attic – Ep. 3: Age of Self
WATCH: 📺 Age of Self's From the Attic session is now live.
Started in the fall of 2021 by friends and veterans of Winnipeg's weird music scene, Age of Self plays hardcore punk as both experimental artwork and radical social critique. Announcing a full-bodied return to punk ethics in time for capitalism's final crisis, Age of Self has more questions than answers and more songs than solicited, including "Age of Self" "Forgive" "Cloud in Pants" and "All Souls."

From the Attic – Ep. 2: Fold Paper
WATCH: 📺 Fold Paper’s From the Attic session is now live.
Led by Chell Osuntade (JayWood and Julien’s Daughter), Fold Paper are nudging post-punk revivalism into a hopeful future. Leaning into their wiry energy, the band lets a head rush of jittery rhythms and glorious guitar slashes guide them toward thrilling dimensions. Watch the group, which also includes Rob Gardiner (drums), Alex Kohut (bass) and Brendyn Funk (guitar), share a striking collection of new songs, including “(Untitled),” “Idle Idle,” “Medical Jargon,” and “Come Down Awkward.”

From the Attic – Ep. 1: Greg MacPherson Band
WATCH: 📺 Greg Macpherson Band’s From the Attic session is now live.
Energetic, propulsive, and social justice-minded, the music of rock ‘n’ roll troubadour Greg MacPherson is as suitable for dancing as it is for mobilizing. Joined by his band (brothers Rob and Alan Gardiner on drums and bass, respectively), he shares a gratifying set of unreleased tunes, including "Winnipeg Walk of Fame,” “Got it All Wrong” featuring Michel Germain (Banned from Atlantis, Breath Grenades, XOXO, Hummers) on second guitar, “Keystone,” and “Some of Us Trying.”
