Well everyone thinks DJ life is easy, stress-free. I can attest there are times when dj life gets super stressful that you have to figure things out on by the time you snap your fingers.

Yesterday we did just that. We had a Dj Gig for a wedding, which started at 4PM. We went to the hall first thing in morning to do our set-up and sound check. Now just we were about to do our final touches... every Djs worst NIGHTMARE happend. Our Dj laptop and hard drive fell to the floor. Panic Mode kicked in.. laptop made it.. phew one thing in clear, now hard drive wasn't so lucky.. And of course no backup hard drive.

Now DJ MIA was freaking out but MC Amy had to keep calm and collective so we could FIGURE out a plan to keep on track with gig..

Now when we come up with a plan to get hard drive looked at as we still 3.5 hrs before gig started. BUT yet another BRICK wall.. hard drive basically a paper weight now.. NOW WHAT??

So we bought a new hard drive, now what cause it's empty. Go home and pull ancient hard drives out.. YES some music not ones we need but that's a start.

Now to figure out what we can do to get music we need ASAP that's not gonna take a long time to download.

Google became our BFF.. having to buy into Music Platforms (3 of them luckily 1 ones a free trial) to get job done for important music. Now it's 3 pm.. we need to get ready and make it to hall before 4 pm.

We are PUNCTUAL company and showing up at 3:55 PM is so not like us but this was an emergency situation. But made it in time and got the job done. We did have to use YouTube and some Spotify for extras but hey no shame in that. And the happy couple we HAPPY and very impressed we got it done when at 12 PM earlier that day didn't look so good!!

Never asked a DJ why they charge so MUCH cause things are cheap nor the music you hear are your function!

First and foremost would like to introduce ourselves...

Sebastien AKA Dj M.I.A.

Being in love with music my whole life, I began messing around with Dj equipment at the age of 14, and became known as Dj M.I.A. Intrigued by spinning records and making crowds of people dance, I taught myself how blend and mix tracks.

I love all kinds of genres and have so many different genres to pick from. You'd be surprised. I don't just play your average radio music, I play it all from Afrobeats, Soca, Amapaino, Dancehall etc..

Amy (MC Of Business)

I first came into the business 2 years ago but only as behind the scenes (books part of business) BUT 6 months in I decide I wanted to do more (ALSO with a little nudge from Sebastien)..

So I slowly began doing some MC during the events. Just little parts here and there until I got more comfortable on the mic.

Little back story about myself.. me getting up in front of a crowd of people is a HUGE accomplishment for me. As a child growing up I wanted NO part of public speaking at all. When I had to do it in school it wasn't a pretty sight. I'd speak so fast you couldn't catch what I was saying and my face be bright red.

Now I absolutely love getting up at weddings, graduations etc and making all the announcements. I take pride in this part of business.
