If you had asked me a year ago whether I was also a photographer, the answer would have been "tenuous" at best.

My first love is and always shall be film... pictures in motion.

But lately, I find myself drawn more and more to the art of the still. Last week's solar storm offered another chance to try something different. Here are the results.

A promotional video we produced to promote sunglasses the Whitby Yacht Club commissioned from our friends over at Blue.BayCo. Each pair purchased goes towards helping fund the Shark24 World Championship in September. In addition, a portion of profit from every sale is also donated to organizations dedicated to keeping our waters clean and clear.

UV400 polarized and made from recycled plastic (PET), each pair of sunglasses recycles approximately 56 plastic water bottles. We are very proud to partner with Blue.BayCo!

Launch day for any sailor is always the unofficial day of Spring. It takes an army of volunteers to pull this highly coordinated effort off every year. Well done to all that participated. Hey Facebook friends. My new business, Portside Media, has been operating now for 6 months. Time flies! And while the excitement of starting something new has given way to grinding to make this venture a success - this feels like an appropriate time for reflection.

In my reflection, I couldn't help but note that I never shared with all of you my new (now 6 month old) website. Created by myself, I am quite proud of it. And while this is a great first pass, I want to be sure that I am always improving in every facet. Website included.

Black Rock Developments is a residential and commercial construction company based out of Peterborough, Ontario. Portside Media was brought on board to film the before and after of their current project in Fraserville, Ontario.

On March 15th, my submission was selected as the official logo for the Shark 24 Worlds at the Whitby Yacht Club. Very honored to have contributed to this amazing event. I took it a step further and also put together an animation for the reveal. Please enjoy!

I have recently taken a huge interest in product videos. This is my first attempt at a beer commercial (spec) I produced for Town Brewery (they are in my neighborhood) and honestly, who doesn't love a good beer? Enjoy!
