Blueprint Magazine A quarterly student magazine of arts at Wilfrid Laurier University, publishing content from an open

Submissions are accepted on a freelance basis from students, alumni, and community members. Submissions are edited, and then compiled into magazine format by a student-run editorial team. Blueprint is published four times a year – three issues during the September to April school term, and one in the summer.

Anything can be seen from multiple perspectives, and the point of view can be unique to everyone. There are many ways to interpret something, and many ways to communicate it to others. Introducing Blueprint Magazine’s Perception Issue, a medium to share creative perspectives and leaving the interpretations open to the viewer/ reader. We are pleased to announce that Ekjyot Singh is our first-place poetry winner for the Told Only in Whispers title prompt contest! Ekjyot Singh is a second-year BBA student at Wilfrid Laurier University, pushing for a finance major and minors in economics and creative writing. He became interested in writing poetry at the end of high school. He is trying to get into short story and nonfiction writing as well. His work revolves around the dark and depressing. This post is a reminder that the Editor-in-Chief position is open! The EIC is Head of Blueprint Magazine and responsible for overseeing the rest of our team. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, March 17th, 2021.

To apply please send your platform and a copy of your resume to [email protected] A platform is similar to a cover letter as it outlines your interest in the role and any relevant past experience. The rest of your platform should outline what you wish to achieve in the role and your plans for the future of Blueprint.
The maximum platform is 30 pages. The minimum is 4 pages. Good luck!

All submissions must be titled “Told Only in Whispers”. Detailed instructions about applying and submitting are accessible through the link below. You can submit one prose piece and one poem each but we will ensure that different people are chosen per category. The limit is 750 words per piece and our accepted format is Microsoft Word. Our top poet from our Isolation issue is Anthony Siprak with his poem “Lacking the Words.” Our top prose piece is by Camille Dehghan and is titled, “Anywhere to Go.” Both pieces were excellently written and are accompanied by our top artists' pieces! Our top artist is Lauren Itkin. Her work truly encompasses the theme of our issue and presents it beautifully through art.
