The CRTC decision dated March 22nd 2023 has renewed CFBW 91.3 FM Bluewater Radio's broadcasting licence until August 31st 2030.
The 7 year renewal is in recognition of the stations broadcasting record of excellence serving the community.
Station Manager Andrew McBride say's the stations success is due to the commitment of the over 30 volunteers who have made Bluewater Radio one of the top Community Radio Stations in Canada.
The station a provided a local voice and local prospective to the community since 2001.

Amazing history from one of Canada’s best loved blues-rock artists!

My mom just found this photo. I think I’m around 10 here playing my very first electric guitar. It was a sunburst Epiphone. This guitar was there for my earliest attempts at Santana, Steve Miller, early Fleetwood Mac and the Allman Brothers. I remember repeatedly visiting it in a music store on Scarth Street in Regina before I convinced my parents that I would probably need it. I would love to know what happened to it. 🎸

Another great musician has "left the building". Check out this gig that was recorded in 1986. It not only features the three legendary artists named below, but also Ron Wood, who you may recall from the Faces, the Jeff Beck Group, and The Rolling Stones. The host and bandleader for this special event was Paul Schaffer, the long-time band leader that David Letterman had for his entire career on Late Night TV. Notice Ron Wood grinning and dancing like an excited kid at Easter! Who wouldn't?

Wow, neat bit of Beatles trivia!

OTD in ‘46, Billy Preston was born. He was one of only five musicians credited on Beatles recordings other than the band.

Billy first met the Beatles as a 16-year-old in 1962, while part of Little Richard's touring band, when the Beatles were the opening band on a show.

During the Let it Be sessions, George walked out of the studio and went to a Ray Charles concert, where Preston was playing organ. George brought Billy back to the studio, where his musicianship and gregarious personality temporarily calmed the tensions between the band.

Billy is one of several people referred to as the "Fifth Beatle". At one point during the Get Back sessions, John proposed the idea of having him join the band (to which Paul countered that it was difficult enough reaching agreements with four).

Billy died in 2006.
