The Ascendant Historian

The Ascendant Historian is a peer-reviewed undergraduate history journal seeking to publish the best scholarship produced by University of Victoria students concerning the past. Our aim is to encourage students to dialogue with each other about their diverse interests across sub-disciplinary and disciplinary borders and to provide them with an opportunity to gain publication credentials and practi

ce the academic process. We are committed to the highest standards of academic integrity. The Ascendant Historian welcomes submissions from all current UVic students. We accept all submissions with a historical focus, regardless of the university department it was written for. Papers must be 2,000-4,000 words, Times New Roman 12-point font, and formatted according to the History Department Style Guide.
