My last event of 2025 was a mashup of my “day job” as an elementary school music teacher, and my “night job” as a DJ & AV production service:

Each year I take my Gr. K-5 choir to the City of Colwood Christmas Light-Up event, along with the other elementary school choirs from our municipality; however, this year the rain and wind were so intense on the day of the event, that it was cancelled. Needless to say, we had a LOT of disappointed children.

I decided that this annual event was important enough that I should try to throw something together myself, as the City of Colwood told me they would not be rescheduling their event. The Commons in seemed like a suitable location, so I reached out to who put me in touch with Sara & Ashleigh at . With only a few days remaining until Christmas break, they wholeheartedly accepted my idea to host an event, and threw their support behind it by offering up the space, sponsoring two shelters from , and hiring to supply enough hot chocolate for up to 300 choir students.

I’m not sure how I pulled it off on top of my teaching job and DJ gigs, but within 2 days I secured an event permit from the city, special event insurance, the commitment of four school choirs, a face-painter, and a plan based on hope.

As soon as I finished teaching, on the day of the event, I raced down to The Commons with my choir risers and sound & lighting equipment; and within 3 hours, everything was ready to go. It must have been a Christmas miracle because the skies cleared (aside from a few sprinkles), hundreds of people turned out, and the event went incredibly smoothly.

Along with the people I already mentioned, a special thanks also goes out to Derek D., Matt S., and Matt H. for helping me with setup, takedown, and equipment transportation; for volunteering her face-painting services; and everyone else who showed support by being there!

It was an insane amount of work to pull this thing together and to shoulder so much responsibility, but it was well worth it to see the excitement radiating from the kids who got the performance chance they deserved. 🎶

Here’s another corporate Christmas party I did this year; at . 🔥

I played around with some Christmas uplighting colours before setting on a warm white that I colour-temperature-matched to the existing lighting in the room. 💡

I also found a new use for my tube lights: One side of the room had several dining booths attached to the wall, which meant I couldn’t fit my uplights; however, the gap between the back of the booth and the wall fit my tube lights perfectly! 👌🏻

Check out this high school grad class winter formal I did a few weeks ago: I brought out my full white DJ setup and uplighting for this one and it was a GREAT party. I’ve worked with this school for a few years now and I think this grad class wins for being the most energetic—I can’t wait to do their prom in June! 🔥

Here’s a corporate event I did a few weeks ago at ! Did you know that approximately 30% of my gigs are for companies hosting parties rather than couples hosting weddings? Some of them book me year-after-year too: My longest running corporate client has been using my DJ services annually since 2015!

I had my last wedding of 2025 on October 25th and it was an epic one to finish with! Ceremony, Cocktails, Dinner and Dancing at the Esquimalt Gorge Pavilion; with a DJ set that was primarily EDM, Drum n Bass, and Techno. The client asked for “extra bass” so I brought four subs and it went HARD. 🤘🏻🎧

Here’s a beautiful fall wedding from this past October at , in Central Saanich. I provided ceremony audio support; DJ services for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing; uplighting around the venue to highlight the natural architecture; and a custom-designed monogram for my DJ booth. 🎧

Normally the ceremony would happen out in the vineyard; however, it was a pretty rainy day so a last-minute decision was made to have it indoors. No matter, though, the view was just as stunning. 🍂

Following the ceremony, the chairs were quickly removed and guests enjoyed cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, and dancing to the bride & groom’s super eclectic song requests. This wedding easily fits into my Top 3 of 2025 for how much fun I had! 🎉

TBT to a super fun wedding I did in September for an industry friend, , and her husband . This gig had quintessential west coast wedding vibes and I was thrilled to provide ceremony audio support, cocktail hour music, dinner music and audio support for speeches, and full DJ services for dancing! 😍🌊

Here’s a sweet little wedding reception I did at PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE in September. I had my full white DJ setup at this one, as well as a remote speaker beside the podium for the MC and speeches. My clients requested light purple uplighting which absolutely transformed the space! 😍

This is the full 3-hour DJ set from a pretty unique wedding dance party I mixed a couple weekends ago. The bride and groom had quite the eclectic taste in music and wanted the party to evolve from timeless classics to high-energy electronic beats.

Along with 15-or-so ‘Must Play’ songs on their music planning form, they also gave me these instructions:

8:00 PM: Opening dance floor with older classics for the mature audiences (eg. ABBA, Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, Bowie, etc.)

9:00 pm: More modern music… alt/electro-indie, rap, etc (eg. Cake, MGMT, Run the Jewels, Franz Ferdinand, Mac Miller, Beastie Boys, Daft Punk, Lit, Green Day, Sum 41, Offspring, Blink-182, GRiZ, Avicii)

10:00 pm onward: EDM —> house —> drum and bass

Check out this recent corporate event I did for !

I arrived at 1:00 PM to load-in and set up my custom black DJ booth, large sound system, and 20-ft lighting truss with 4 moving spots and 2 high-powered lasers, in the Crystal Ballroom at the Empress.

At 5:00 PM, I walked down to Ship Point with my DJ controller and laptop, and hooked up to the sound system provided by to play music for Part 1 of the event, which included food and drinks by ; live performances by and ; roaming photo booth by ; and a 10 minute drone show (with 400 drones!) put on by .

At 9:45 PM I quickly packed up my DJ controller and walked back to my setup at the Empress, and by 10:15 I was DJing the EPIC afterparty! 🎉

Party was over at 1:00 AM and I was packed up and loaded out by 2:45 AM and crawling into bed by 3:45 AM. Phew!
