What is a Poetry Ember?
Beneath the cloak of night the EMBER sessions await. Here, local honored poets guide your journey. Each session is led by a different Honored Poet, sharing their secrets and leading you through their own poetic exercises. *"LIT" and "ember" are scheduled every two weeks on alternating Tuesdays. Come and write your poetry at "ember" and share your poetry at "LIT".
Haus of Owl Creation Club
Designed as a Coworking Club for Creators, Haus of Owl exists to support the creative spirit, hunger, and process of artists in the world of music, film, fashion, photography and dance. This curated community consists of Membership options that span from Drop-In Artist to Dedicated Creator with in-house recording and film studios supported by a collective of industry pros.

Grace’s purpose was to open a bridge of empathy between the homeless humans of Victoria and the wider population of our society so that we might be able to create a more compassionate perspective whenever we come across people we don’t understand, who look and act a little different, or care to even acknowledge.
Constructed out of leftover garbage, homeless signs begging for loose change, drawings and poetry from artists lost within the black holes of drug addiction, and other misused and forgotten materials, Tanya brought Grace into existence and wheeled her down to Pandora Street and Centennial Square so people could feel safe and inspired enough to sit down with Grace and share their stories. It worked.
The underlying purpose and message of Tanya’s art deserved a wider audience and so we decided to make a film about it.
In collaboration with the local non-profit org @ourplacesociety our movie will be premiering at the Gage Gallery on September 9th. Tickets will be by donation at the door and all proceeds will go to @ourplacesociety. Doors will open at 6pm with the movie starting at 7pm.”

Maybe "Church of Creativity" is a little much. Maybe it's just right. #Maryoliver once said that she didn't "know exactly what a prayer is" but that she did know how to "pay attention, how to fall down into the grass..." I too don't know exactly what a prayer is, but I do know how to let go, how to give my identity an hour off, and in that hour to summon the ghosts that wander the recesses of hearts, sometimes my own, how to lend them my voice, my pen, my time so that they too can be heard. I don't know exactly what a prayer is, But when I create, I become a dagger, plunged into the beating heart of humanity, not to injure - but to dive deep enough so as to learn the truth about healing. #churchofcreativity #creativeordie
