We are so grateful for today's Sunset Labs spotlight in the Times Colonist... thank you to journalists Darren Stone & Mike Devlin for your hard work and deep support of community venues & event spaces! ❤

Sunset Labs is amongst the many local event spaces deeply impacted by vastly increasing lease costs... burdening for the last year an unexpected 65% increase in our lease rate - SO HARD to make it work, so I'm really thankful that the TC is bringing more awareness to the plight of local event spaces.

Tomorrow we are so excited to be hosting a virtual event called Maytiwee's Secret ~ A Western woman's nun-monks journey. (VIRTUAL EVENT) - all about the hidden world of Thailand's s*x trade.

Our storyteller is Author Maggie Calder, a wester woman visiting Thailand who ended up staying and becoming a nun-monk, deep in study of the Buddhist Dharma.

Her monk Phra Bhasakorn assigned Maggie a nun-monk name Maytiwee, and assigned to her the task of observing the Thai s*x trade, which resulted in her opening a sewing school to offer children from the S*x Trade a new trade in sewing, and a path out of darkness.

BOOM! Check out our new, amazing, temporary - supertool! For the next 30 days we play host to Lumera Productions amazing 15' wide LED wall - with which we can create stunning & immersive backdrops for our virtual & hybrid events.

We can now put our on-stage speakers in Paris, underwater, at the North Pole or anywhere they might want to be. Possibilities are now only at the limit of our creativity :))

Big news! Like, HUGE.
Like, really quite large.

In a random, unexpected and most excellent turn of events - Sunset Labs is temporarily receiving a HUGE LED WALL! It goes IN on DEC7, and comes OUT on JAN3. It's monstrous, amazing, super fancy and covers our WHOLE back wall.

The possibilities are endless :)

With big thanks to our partners over at Lumera Productions, Sunset Labs gets to use and demo it for a month. We're excited to test it out - but we need some immediate new PROJECTS to do so!

SO! We're extending an offer to incentivize you to create something quickly. We're calling it "the 12 days of xmas" because we have only 12(ish) dates available - which are currently:

BOOM! So grateful to Douglas magazine for their recent generous editorial coverage of Sunset Labs - 'A Stage For A New Age'! On point.

You may know that 1 year ago this month Sunset stopped being a traditional event venue - and become a PRODUCTION STUDIO specializing in virtual & hybrid events. Re-introducing the new Sunset Labs to the world has been a TASK... and continues to be much work to let people know of these changes... and to re-introduce our services and offerings to the world.

Getting editorial support from our business community is a huge help, and the phone has already been ringing with people who have seen the article. Yay!
