We have been sorely remiss on sharing stuff on social media this year.

In Canada we are no longer able to share media links on FB so that limits all the news we can share.

Just finished our first day of programming blocks, which we throughly enjoyed. Closing off the night with a screening of the campy genre classic Evil Dead.

2nd day wrapped in the festival!

Had a lot of fun with the The 501st Legion folks coming out to help celebrate our Star Wars fan film programming block. The kids (and a certain 50 year old festival programming director who will remain unnamed) loved getting their photos taken with Darth Vader and friends!

Thanks to the historic and very haunted Vernon Towne Theatre for hosting our festival again this year!

Congratulations to Geoff and the Ninja for their two wins!
They were present to accept their trophies from our programming director Robyn during a live screening at the historic Vernon Towne Theatre.
(Ok, the etched glass trophies apparently don’t show up well in photos… but they are quite lovely!)

Festival screenings starting today!

In case you were wondering what the life of a Programming Director looks like just before a festival... this is one of ours who made the incredibly poor decision to do some last minute screen testing of our "After Dark" Horror/Thriller block all alone at 3am in the dark at an almost 100 year old theatre that is reportedly haunted and featured on several paranormal activity TV shows.

It is our understanding that he slept the rest of the night with the lights on.... good job creeping him out film-makers!

Folks might want to come see this set of films late tonight if they enjoy being scared (at least more than our poor volunteer here).

The trophies for select awards are in and look great!
We have also finally heard from our local public health authority and have successfully been permitted to have 50% capacity in the venue (185 people), instead of the 50 people we were going to be previously permitted.
That means we can put the tickets online for sale, keep an eye out for the the post and link in the next couple of days!
