Heads Up Neighbours, it seems this area has been the target of thieves the last couple of months. On New Year's Eve police were in River District near Romer's trying to locate someone breaking into vehicles. The most recent incident is a package theft from the stoop at Captain's Walk that happened on January 2nd and caught on a door cam.

Reminder if you are in a townhome and expecting an item, maybe ask a neighbour or friend who may be home to receive your delivery for you, or check for the package you are expecting. If you are in the apartments, please confirm when buzzing people into the buildings you confirm verbally who is requesting to be let in vs. just buzzing someone in.

Heads up neighbours, there have been several break-ins in the area over the last couple of months including vehicles on the street as well as in underground parkades. The most recent last night. This is a reminder to be vigilent when coming & going especially late at night, or in the early hours of the morning, do NOT leave anything valuable and/or visible in your vehicle at any time. If you see anything suspicious, or a crime in progress, call 911.

We are excited to share that we raised $750 at this year's Tugboat Landing Artisan Market. 100% of the funds will be going to 2 amazing organizations dear and near to many residents in our community - the Vancouver BC SPCA Emergency Fund and SAINTS (Senior Animals In Need Today Society). As many know, we don’t charge admission, but instead host a raffle to win a beautiful gift basket generously donated by Everything Wine River District. This year, we also give a special thanks to our dear friends at Odd Couple Company who donated their amazing coffee to our Donation Café. If you haven’t tried it, you are missing out! There were rave reviews on their coffee. Thank you to everyone that attended, purchased tickets, bought a hot chocolate, coffee or sweet treat. Many charities are struggling this year and we are grateful to have the opportunity to give back. We couldn’t have done this without YOU! The winner of the beautiful gift basket from Everything Wine will be announced soon. 🎟 Stay tuned. 🎄🍾

We wish to thank everyone that came and supported the 8th Annual Tugboat Landing Artisan Market. We had another fabulous turnout. We again heard some amazing feedback from vendors and attendees what a friendly welcoming space it was and the wonderful community feel this neighbourhood has. We wish to give a special shout out to the many wonderful volunteers that stepped up including some residents that helped keep everything running smoothly this weekend. Also a special thanks to Everything Wine River District for their ongoing support and donation of gift basket. Raffle coming soon. Winner to be announced. Stay tuned!

Heads up neighbours, we just learnt that Simply West Coast is now stocked up with some delish ready to go frozen prepared meals by local company Market 49 Fine Foods. Think Italian Sausage Lasagna, Braised Beef Shepherd's Pie, Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, soups, chili and much more. Just a quick walk down the street to 1670 East Kent Ave. S at Argyle Street. Simply Westcoast is open 7 days a week 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Mark your calendars! The Tugboat Landing Artisan Market is back for its 8th year on Saturday, November 30th (11:00 am to 5:00 pm) and Sunday, December 1st (11:00 am to 4:00 pm). The event takes place in the Harbour Master Clubhouse at 2010 East Kent Ave S. (foot of Victoria Drive). Admission is free. We will have 20+ vendors offering a wide range of items perfect for gift giving for the upcoming holiday season.

Hot cocoa, coffee and treats will be available by donation. We will again be hosting a raffle with proceeds going to the BC SPCA and SAINTS Rescue. Everything Wine – River District is an amazing supporter of our event and they have again donated a beautiful gift basket to raffle off.

River District Living will again on hand this year with the opportunity to win some great offerings from local River District businesses. We hope you’ll stop by and support our vendors. We've included a sampling in photos of what you might find at this year's market. This year, we also give thanks to Phillips Craft Soda for donating soda for our Donation Café and Odd Couple Company for donating their delish coffee. Most importantly we wish to thank everyone that attended and purchased tickets, bought coffee, hot cocoa or sweet treats. We couldn’t have done this without YOU! We wish to send out a heartfelt thanks to all those came out to the 7th Annual Tugboat Landing Artisan Market. Wow, what a weekend! We had a wonderful turnout and we are grateful to all those that came out to support local makers, creatives and small businesses within the community. It means the world to them and us to be able to support them. We also wish to give a special thanks Katherine Hall at River District Living and River District Living Real Estate who handed out 200 gift packs featuring promotional offerings from local businesses. Another special thanks to Everything Wine River District who not only participated in the promotional offering, but gifted a beautiful gift basket to raffle with 100% proceeds going to charity. Raffle coming soon. Hold onto those tickets! Many thanks also to Phillips Craft Soda that gifted soda for our Donation Café. Of course, our amazing volunteers who welcomed you and made an abundance of hot chocolate this past weekend. We saw many young smiling faces with their hot cocoa and marshmallows in hand. Wow! What a first day of the 7th Annual Tugboat Landing Artisan Market. We powered through a lot of hot chocolate yesterday but we are restocked and ready for one more market day. We are here for you today from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Look forward to seeing you!
