No matter how many bombs fall or tunnels are destroyed, Israel will only have security when the Palestinians have hope. For that to happen there must be a fundamental shift in the relationship between Israelis and Palestinians.

It will take years for either Israelis or Palestinians to get over the trauma of the last eight months. But the work can begin. President Biden‘s proposal laid out on Friday was the biggest opening yet in the path to the end of this war. It’s extraordinary that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to the new framework at least in theory, and are ready to begin negotiations based on that.

Much could still go wrong, but there is hope. Prayers that this will happen; may the leaders in every sector involved here - and there are many - find their way to a sustainable peace.

I post this as a prayer for peace and forgiveness. If anyone is going to comment with words of violence or injustice, then I will simply delete your post. Propaganda from either side is not welcome here. May this platform be a sacred space where hearts are joined an infinite compassion for everyone.

In A Course in Miracles it is written, “The holiest spot on earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love.”

May it be so.

What a beautiful evening of song and spirit, for a nearly sold out audience! Brilliant and touching musical direction by Frank Zieginson brought a magical performance of the entire program designed to lift our spirits with beauty and hope. The performance of Never Just a Dream was so beautiful. Thank you to Frank and this gorgeous choir!

An amazing thing happened yesterday. 80 years after “La rafle d’Izieu”, La Maison d’Izieu held a magnificent commemoration of the incredible courage and love that built this house that saved so many. My mother was there. And yesterday, Emmanuel Macron, Honourable President of France, was also there.

In this video, my mom, Diane, tells of the truly incredible courage it took for her mother, Hélène, to hand her to a nurse in a n**i holding camp, asking her to save her daughter by sneaking her out of the camp. My grandmother knew of the fate waiting them both and wanted desperately to save her daughter. She did.

Yesterday marks 80 years since the day that Klaus Barbi, the so-called “butcher of Lyon”, went to the Maison d’Izieu, a hidden orphanage for Jewish children, and took 44 children, 7 adults to the gas chambers. On that day, my mother was at the Pallarès family home where she’d been lovingly welcomed as part of their family. She only discovered that she was Jewish years later.

I too find it near imaginable to give my baby to a stranger feeling it is the only hope for their survival. My grandmother did not survive. My mother went on to build her own loving family and is still living a wonderful and fulfilling life. Thank you dear Bubby Hélène for your love, your unbelievable courage, it lives on brightly in your daughter, her children, grandchildren and beyond. As you’ll see in the video, my mom struggles with ways to thank her mother, the Pallarès family, Sabine and Miron Zlatin for their deep courage, love, and actions it took to save her life and so many others.

I believe that just knowing that love lives on is a huge thank you. I do my best every day to share and pass on that same love. Thank you dear Hélène Popowski, Sabine & Miron Zlatin, Marie-Antoinette, Guy, Renée & Paulette Pallarès, and all other souls who still carry the Love.

And thank you President Macron and everyone at la Maison d’Izieu for this amazing tribute and commemoration.
