Well, Vancouver, it’s been quite the ride - 29 years! Trying to find the right words, capturing all the emotions, deep gratitude for great learning and experiencing, well, not an easy task. I moved here from Montreal in 1995 with a pretty big dream and somehow found my way there. To all the folks who have helped and supported me, worked with me, learned with me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and the depth of my soul. To the folks who challenged me and caused difficulty and pain, I thank you for guiding me, offering opportunities to learn and grow and lead me to this very day. 14 of my 29 years in Vancouver have been lived and loved in this home, this place that has provided shelter, love and guidance as well as a home for the creation of beautiful music with my beloved peers, friends and family. Always in my heart and deeply in my soul, I am grateful. I will be carrying with me all that I’ve learned and loved here to Gabriola Island where my lifelong dream of living in nature will be realized at last, proving once again that song that came through in 1989, it’s “Never Just a Dream”. Liz, Jesse, Meadow, me and sometimes Zoe will be seeing you again in a whole new world, created at least partly by the magic of Vancouver and the love of all with whom we’ve connected and shared. We love you all

No matter how many bombs fall or tunnels are destroyed, Israel will only have security when the Palestinians have hope. For that to happen there must be a fundamental shift in the relationship between Israelis and Palestinians.

It will take years for either Israelis or Palestinians to get over the trauma of the last eight months. But the work can begin. President Biden‘s proposal laid out on Friday was the biggest opening yet in the path to the end of this war. It’s extraordinary that both Israel and Hamas have agreed to the new framework at least in theory, and are ready to begin negotiations based on that.

Much could still go wrong, but there is hope. Prayers that this will happen; may the leaders in every sector involved here - and there are many - find their way to a sustainable peace.

I post this as a prayer for peace and forgiveness. If anyone is going to comment with words of violence or injustice, then I will simply delete your post. Propaganda from either side is not welcome here. May this platform be a sacred space where hearts are joined an infinite compassion for everyone.

In A Course in Miracles it is written, “The holiest spot on earth is where an ancient hatred has become a present love.”

May it be so.

What a beautiful evening of song and spirit, for a nearly sold out audience! Brilliant and touching musical direction by Frank Zieginson brought a magical performance of the entire program designed to lift our spirits with beauty and hope. The performance of Never Just a Dream was so beautiful. Thank you to Frank and this gorgeous choir!

If you are looking for a special Mother’s Day event, the concert is back on tomorrow at 2:30. Love to all!
