CUPE BC Seamless Childcare Campaign
CUPE BC has been campaigning for better public child care for years. And recently, they received some big news! ✨
Earlier this month, the Government of British Columbia announced it’s moving forward on Seamless Childcare—a new pilot project for fully integrated before- and after-school childcare options at BC public schools. It's one of the best ways to make life easier for parents while making use of the existing school space, resources, and trained staff at BC’s public schools.

On October 5th last year, Ontarians out and about couldn't escape these billboards, thanking teachers. To celebrate World Teachers' Day, @elementaryeducators (ETFO) received over 600 submissions from parents. We then posted the thank you notes in various locations across the province—on over 3,000 digital screens—in health clinics, malls, convenience stores, gas stations, gyms, theatres, transit, taxis, and, yes, billboards.
The total amount of impressions delivered was more than 14.3 million on that day. Talk about getting your message out there!
What a year it’s been! New faces, new campaigns, and some big wins to celebrate along the way. It's time to wrap up 2023! 🥳🍾
Our team met up in Vancouver earlier this month for some team building and fun times. And the week was full of memorable moments! Here are some highlights.
Today, on December 6th, we honour the memory of the 14 women who were killed at École Polytechnique in Montréal in 1989.
On this National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we remind ourselves to listen, learn, and act. Today and every day we must continue the work toward ending gender-based violence.

Paying a living wage is good for workers, good for business and good for communities. Here's why it's important to us! #livingwageweek #costofliving
For over a century, SGEU (The Saskatchewan Government and General Employees’ Union) members have been making their communities and the province a better place to live. With the new awareness campaign, they’re celebrating the value of public services, and the work their members do.
The new campaign is running this fall on TV, as well as digital and social channels across Saskatchewan.
Happy #WorldTeachersDay! 🍎📚
We're so grateful to all the remarkable educators who consistently demonstrate their resilience, dedication, and passion for our kids' education. Thank you for shaping minds, fostering creativity, and nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

Can advertising help solve the most complex challenges facing our communities and our loved ones?
The answer is yes.
Building effective campaigns for good causes is the kind of work we love doing here at NOW. When done right, health care awareness campaigns have the power to reduce stigma, keep people safe, and encourage healthy behaviour change.
We wrote a blog post about five valuable pointers to consider when crafting compelling health promotion campaigns. Read it here: nowgroup.com/5-best-practices-for-effective-health-promotion-campaigns/
It's time to wrap up another great summer! Take a look at some of the #behind-the-scenes highlights. ✨
No school runs without its school support workers!
Returning to our back-to-school archives, this bright and breezy animation from 2018 celebrates the work that CUPE BC members do around schools across BC—"making great schools possible".
The countdown is on—school bells will soon ring again! Let's revisit another #educationmatters ad from our archives.
This BC Teachers' Federation campaign from 11 years ago had a series of ads showing students waiting - for help from a teacher, an assessment from a special needs teacher, an appointment for counselling. When our kids don't have enough supports, they end up waiting way too long.
Manitoba Teachers' Society - Mrs. Kowalchuk
NOW has been championing well-funded, inclusive public school systems for 30 years. With school just around the corner, we're dipping into the vault to show you some of our favourites.
'Meet Mrs. Kowalchuk'—an ad for the Manitoba Teachers' Society in 2006—highlights the importance and the positive impact teachers have on kids and their everyday lives.
ETFO Out-of-Home billboards
Education cuts have real consequences for students and schools. These Elementary Educators (ETFO) billboards first ask a question: what happens when students can't get mental health support? Or what will more cuts to public schools mean for our children? And the answer is clear: our kids are paying the heavy price of the cuts.
The billboards were seen across Ontario this spring and summer.
BC's teacher shortage is affecting students across the province. And our kids know: teachers can't be in two places at once!
We worked with the BC Teachers' Federation (BCTF) on their latest campaign to raise awareness of the impact the crisis is having on teachers and students. This 15-second ad, Morning Announcements, is one of the two ads we created for the campaign.
