Many streets once bearing the name of our final villain, Joseph Trutch, have since been renamed in efforts towards reconciliation with First Nations communities.

"By reducing the size of reserves and successfully advancing the illegal separation of BC First Nations from their lands, Trutch made it impossible to reconstruct, following European immigration, a viable economy for First Nations."

Despite the lakes, rivers, and communities named after him, British Columbia's 17th premier, William Bowser, had a particularly ruthless reputation with labour organizers even in his own time.

"Bowser was the iron fist in McBride's velvet glove. He was not a popular man, particularly among working-class men, who held him responsible for the 1912-14 strike in the goal fields of Vancouver Isalnd, when he sent in the 72nd Regiment, among others, to put down the riots that attended the lockouts"

Hamish Ballantyne's poems sit as much on the mountainside as they do on city streets. Resisting the urge of revelation in favour of idiomatic observation, Tomorrow is a Holiday brims with restless curiosity.
