Look how excited I get about plastic free produce. 🤣 on Commercial Drive has been consistently carrying plastic free cauliflower this summer and it’s still there! I’m so into it.

I really do get excited about finding plastic-free produce that is always wrapped in plastic (like cauliflower and cucumber). And, it turns out, cauliflower even has it’s own natural packaging… its leaves!

Refusing to buy produce wrapped in plastic is one of my biggest recommendations for reducing waste in your home. It might not always be 100% possible if you are working with specific recipes or have picky eaters but for most of us, most of this time, this is a very do-able task that can make a significant difference in your household. We can even learn to make substitutions for those recipes and picky eaters in time.

Tip: farmers markets and produce shops are way more likely to have plastic-free produce than the big box stores!

Small stores can also make better choices (including ) to not pre-bag their bulk produce for easy grab and go option. Let us pick our produce without the plastic bags please! ❤️

Personally, it’s been a bit of transition to move away from Jarr Delivery/Nada for my household shopping and I know I’m not alone. Supporting folks who are looking for opportunities to buy groceries and other products with less packaging is always a priority for me and I’m happy I still have the opportunity to do that with ! ❤️
