Happening this Sunday! Check out this amazing line up of vendors 🤩 30+ talented local artisans & businesses all in one spot!

Vendors will be both inside the venue and on the deck (visible and accessible from the venue)! You're sure to cross a few people off your shopping list (and perhaps pick up something for yourself 😉

Don't forget to check out food truck for some delicious eats! They will be outside the venue serving up some great food 😋

Shining Waters is seeking new talent to add to our team as we head into our wedding & event season for Summer/ Fall 2021! This position is a multifaceted combination of set up/ tear down for events and bartending with some serving duties as required. If you are friendly, outgoing, and love working with people - we want to hear from you!

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Set Up & Tear Down

• Cleanliness of exterior areas of the venue including the deck, parking lot, & lawn
• Decoration placement
• Ensuring cleanliness of the building before each event
• Ironing linens
• Polishing cutlery, plates, glassware etc
• Setting floor plans in place
• Setting tables (glassware, utensils, plates, etc)
• Setting up ceremony locations with chairs, archways, and decor when needed
• Tieing sashes & folding napkins

2. Bartending

• Check ID and comfortable refusing/ discontinuing service when necessary
• Clearing tables and restocking glassware
• Ensuring the bar maintains organization and cleanliness
• Interact with guests and take orders during events
• Keep track of tables and tabs
• Make recommendations and suggestions based on product knowledge
• Offer wine/ champagne pour service and prepare/ mix cocktails
• Operate point of sale
• Operating dishwasher
• Prepare non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages
• Re-stocking alcohol, ice, garnishes, etc
• Table checks to ensure guest satisfaction

3. Other Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Checking guests in as they arrive
• Mid-season clean up
• Removing trash and recyclables
• Some serving when needed, depending on the event
• Taking inventory

Qualifications:

• Able to lift up to 30lbs
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Exceptional customer service skills and willing to go the extra mile to ensure guests are enjoying their experience with us
• Flexible schedule - this job is mainly weekends but some weekday work daytime/ evening may be required
• Food safety handling course an asset
• Own method of transportation an asset
• Previous events, bartending, & serving experience a strong asset
• Professional, organized individual who communicates well with others and can work alone or as a member of a team
• Reliable and punctual

It is important to note that this position is mainly weekends with some work through the week as required. You may be required to work longer than the standard 8-hour workday. A schedule will be given in advance of all events (subject to change), and we provide a schedule for a months duration - keeping in mind that some slight changes may need to be made i.e. added events or changes to event start/ finishing times. In addition to the hourly wage, you will also receive tips/ gratuity. Sometimes couples bring their dogs to be part of their ceremony :)
