Exploring British Columbia | Old Coach Trail Radium | Fairmont Hot Springs [4K Ultra HD]
Want to explore more in British Columbia? We do recommend hiking in Old Coach Trail Radium Trailhead and Fairmont Hot Springs.
The Old Coach trail is a 9-kilometre walking or cycling route that runs between Radium Hot Springs and Dry Gulch, British Columbia. This is a historic route that was travelled by Model Ts in the 1920s. Upon exploring off trail, we saw a wrecked Model T Ford car. Hiking further, we saw the Hoodos. And on top of the hill offers a picturesque view of the Columbia River and the Columbia Wetlands below.
Our next stop was the Fairmont Hot Springs. And it is just a 25min drive from the Old Coach Trail.
The recorded history begins in the early 1800s, when explorers discovered the ‘land of smoking waters’. In the 1920s, the bathhouse was built, to accommodate the influx of guests traveling on the newly built Kootenay National Parks road.
If you plan to stay overnight in Radium, we recommend Radium Chalet. They got nice amenities, with a cozy fireplace, great overlooking view from the Balcony and more.
