The Black Lion Beer, logo and branding design, draw inspiration from the historic Battle of Adwa in 1896. In this battle, Ethiopian forces led by King Menelik II achieved a significant victory over the invading Italian army. This victory, a defining moment in Ethiopian history, is represented through powerful symbolism in the design.

The logo features a black lion, symbolizing the bravery and strength of the Ethiopian warriors, who referred to themselves as lions during the battle. The lion embodies resilience, pride, and a fighting spirit—qualities that resonate with the brand’s identity. The beer label incorporates a mountain, representing the battleground of Adwa, and a red line, symbolizing the blood shed by the Ethiopian warriors in their fight for independence. ....
