Nature is the key to freedom and guiding of the soul, where CALICO grows its roots and builds its home. The Canadian group’s personal, introspective style blends poetic lyrics with earthy, acoustic sounds and distinct connections to the living and the land. With idyllic impressionism, CALICO explores life, love, darkened days, vibrant vistas, soothing serenity, and beyond, painting musical landscapes evoking life’s important emotions and nature’s nurturing effects, like the wind’s fierce energy, the forest’s calm and beauty, and the power of the water and waves. CALICO’s experienced musicians bring expertise from diverse acclaimed backgrounds spanning classic rock and singer-songwriter to Latin and Afro influences, creating a breezy, stirring fusion of Folky Americana and indie roots rock informed as much by Bob Dylan and The War on Drugs as Nathaniel Rateliff and The Black Crowes.

Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Leah Barley offers stirring original songs that evoke both the jubilation and heartbreak inherent to classic folk and country music. An accomplished banjo player as well as guitarist, Barley creates a sound as affecting today as it was a century ago. Her latest EP "Awkward & Heartbroken" will be out in February 2025.

Blue Light Sessions Presents STALE & TWINN

ENTER FROM THE BACK ALLEY!

Stale has been sharpening their sound since 2022, contriving a seamless weaving of pop and grunge influence with the hard hitting punches of post-hardcore. Their thoroughly reductive song writing aims to draw in with alluring simplicity that accompanies an overall decorative sound. The Stale debut EP "Days Like This" comes out this year on November 15th.

TWINN are a noisy, reverb-laden, post-punk band from Vancouver who formed in 2023. Pulling influences from shoegaze and surf tones, to power-pop and punk, they recently released their debut EP “BASEMENT” this year via Mala Label.

Bloom Effect
Jula Lafit (bass/vocals), Craig Weighman (guitars), and Tom Rappa (drums).

Argentinean and British musicians crossing paths in Vancouver BC, bloom effect creates through swirling reverb and delay an introspective, fuzz-washed, and melancholic sound led by ethereal female vocals. They join the dots between shoegaze, dream pop, and post-punk.

Spanish and English lyrics describe the emotional push and pull between holding on and letting go; each song speaks about the inevitable experience of loss, love, and growing older in a world that feels alien.

PC Dagg
PC Dagg—Derek, Dylan, Kurt, and Spencer—are a Vancouver four-piece playing post-punk inspired indie rock in a dagg eat dagg world.

Long Weekend Travel Agency
Jamie Smail and Jean-Paul Maurice met in 2012 when the two were paired at random to collaborate and write together as part of an artists retreat. Both continued working on separate projects until 2020 when Maurice approached Smail with an opportunity to fill a cancelled session at his boutique recording studio in East Vancouver. Over the course of 2+ years, the duo has meticulously pieced together a collection of songs and plan to release the album out into the world in 2024.
