This is how I play in my 40s.
I pull out my teacups, pour tea into them, set them up, take their photos, add in some sweets, and let my imagination go.
Of course clean up after play isn’t the best part, but it’s so worth it.
Does play time look similar for you?

Nothing like an impromptu migraine to mess up your day. 😒 Not like we can plan these things, but the timing on this one was pretty poor.
Thankfully I got up extra early to get a head start on projects, so all was good there. 😌
But this one hit fast & hard. I know everyone experiences migraines slightly differently, for me my vision starts to disappear. Which is extra scary for me, since I went completely blind as a child & it still causes anxiety thinking about that accident.
But usually I see my vision slowly fading and have time to figure things out. Today was different. I was working on a client project and was wondering why my screen had a glare on it, & I suddenly couldn’t see it.
I thought it must have been the bright sun. Which reminded me I should take a break since it was already afternoon lunch. I thought I’d adjust my screen and finish up and then find something to eat.
Then I couldn’t see the screen at all. 😬
I quickly realized this was hitting fast and luckily knew where my migraine medication was (and it was close). I found the box by touch (thankful it’s unique to other medication).
Then used Siri to contact Jeanette to let her know what was happening. It’s so scary to be alone during a migraine, because I never know exactly what will take place. When I was in my early 20s I spent a lot of time at the hospital to get them settled down. 😶🌫️
So off to bed and a dark room I went. My senses become extremely heightened during a migraine, every noise sounds like it’s drilled right into my head. Every light feels like staring at the brightest sun.
So under the covers with an eye mask and blankets stuffed over my ears. Begging to fall asleep and throw meds to kick in before the pain becomes so difficult it causes uncontrollable vomiting. 😞
Beyond thankful that Jeanette was able to look after me. That the meds kicked in quickly. That I was able to settle down. That Gary was quiet.
When I was able to get up,
It’s been a minute since we unboxed a tea order together. We have a lot of tea in our home, so we’ve been attempting to drink them down, share them, and enjoy them.
However, sometimes you just need to have a favourite in your cupboard, on those days when you’re less wanting to explore new and different teas.
So when @pessimisticantelope noticed she soon wouldn’t be able to get a tea that she couldn’t stop thinking (and talking) about, we knew it was time to place an order with @theteagirl
Sarah, the owner and amazing blender of The Tea Girl is completely adorable and incredibly kind to us. We are so thankful.
I’ve already tasted one of the samples… so good!!!
And of course I’ve already devoured a cup of lalalalavender cream earl grey!
I have some ideas and plans for the future… I’m still letting them tumble around in my mind, and how best to allow them to flourish. I think I just need a bit more confidence. 🤞🥹
Do you see any teas that you’d love to try?
Thanks for the support and kindness. You make a difference in my life. 🩵🩵🩵🩵
Conversations around and about birds this week have been incredibly helpful to me. There’s something magical about taking a moment to watch the birds, I hope this is a sign of spring around the corner.
Anyone else enjoy bird watching? 🐦⬛
