This Eric Clapton strat has gone through a lot of changes! Re-wired to have stock passive wiring with custom shop 54 pickups, neck was replaced because the original had developed a warp that the truss rod could not correct, and it was converted to a baritone with flatwounds — tuned to Bb standard! Such a beautiful tone on this guitar. I was really surprised how good a Strat is at being a baritone! Great tone and feel, intonates with ease — the note definition is super clear, even at the higher frets! For anyone who’s curious, the guitar was setup with the 15-65 gauge strings from a D’Addario ECG24-7 set.

Look at this beauty! Vintage Fender P ✌️❤️🤘This one got the works: fretwork, bone nut, pickup repair (signal was intermittent), and a full setup. Sounds and plays like a dream! Love P basses; they’re one of the finest examples of a masterful guitar design.

Happy 2025! This year, I’m resuming regular posts here and on Facebook! And what a way to do so with a new addition to my own family of instruments: a stunning Martin 000-15m! Even a brand new Martin out of the box benefits from a setup. Didn’t touch the saddle - it was right where I wanted it! - but I brought the nut slots down, tightened the truss rod a bit, rolled the fret edges and polished them to a mirror shine, and conditioned the fretboard with the all natural Crimson Guitars restorative oil that I order from the UK. Sounds and plays like a dream. Keep yourself and your guitars healthy by ensuring proper humidity in your home and/or guitar cases! ✌️❤️🤘

Hey! Since I haven’t posted in a while, I wanted to say that I have been, and am still actively repairing guitars every day. I just go through periods of inactivity when it comes to posting about it ❤️
Speaking of posting about guitars... here’s a bone nut I made for a Gibson Les Paul a few days ago. This particular piece has some gorgeous marbling! ✌️❤️

I make sure to stretch every morning; not just for my own well being, but also to be able to work on crazy guitars like this! This thing is massive! This guitar had some cracks in the fingerboard that needed attention, and a setup was in order too. This Dean is ready to shred! ✌️❤️🤘

This gorgeous PRS guitar had some not so gorgeous wiring issues causing complete loss of signal. Well, not anymore! The wiring is gorgeous again and there is signal once more; a very pleasant signal I might add!✌️❤️🤘

This is a 70’s El Degas Strat! The headstock used to tell you that, but at some point in its life, the logo was scratched off. Too bad because I would personally wear that El Degas name proudly! Especially in the 70s, you could argue that El Degas were making better guitars than the company they were… let’s say… taking some inspiration from 🤣. There were a few issues with the guitar however, hence why it came into my shop! The repairs it got were: straightening the previously crooked bridge by filling and re-drilling the 6 screw holes, replacing the pickguard to facilitate the upgrade from a 3 way to a 5 way toggle switch, a fret level and dress, neck shim, and a setup. It’s a gorgeous player now!✌️❤️👌

Now here’s a wild one! An electric sitar by Italia. Very impressed with this instrument. I really thought this would just be a cheap gimmicky guitar, but after working on it and getting to play it a bit, I could really see this finding it’s way onto a lot of recordings! Steve Howe (Yes) certainly liked his! This e-sitar got some metal tuner buttons, as the old plastic ones were cracking, a minor repair for a stripped screw hole in the bridge assembly, and a setup. ✌️❤️🤘

Crafton Guitars is now (finally!) on Instagram! All my old posts can still be found on my page www.facebook.com/craftonguitars which I’ll continue to post to as well. Kicking off the new Instagram is this beauty of a guitar… the Godin Session HT! Assembled in the USA, but the parts are handcrafted right here in Canada! A setup was all she needed for the gig ✌️❤️

Mystery solved! 🕵️‍♂️ The neck pickup wasn't working on this gorgeous Jaguar, and the culprit ended up being a cold solder joint on the pickup selector switch. In addition to solving that mystery, this Jaguar got a full setup. Playing better than when it left the factory now! ✌️❤️
