Liebe Balkanbeat-Fans,

seit mehr als zwanzig Jahren bringen Dobranotch, die ihr musikalisches Abenteuer in den Straßen der französischen Stadt Nantes begannen, der Welt die grenzenlose Energie der Roots-Musik näher: Jüdisch, Russisch, Balkan, Roma. In der Philharmonie klingen sie wie raffinierte Künstler, in einem Club oder auf einem Festival versetzen sie das Publikum in eine tanzende Trance, und wenn sie von der Bühne herunterkommen, sind sie das Orchester für einen magischen Karneval.

Diesen Freitag bringen Dobranotch den Grünen Salon der Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz zum Beben, und stellen ihr neuestes Album Vander Ikh Mir Lustik vor. Stir the soul!

Oktopus... Trio... Et oui, formule revisitée qui sera sera présentée les 27, 29 et 30 juin à 20h30 au Cabaret Loto-Québec à l'occasion du Festival International de Jazz de Montréal !

Montréal klezmer propose un répertoire bien sûr ancré dans la tradition klezmer (sinon le concert porterait très mal son nom), mais aussi teinté d’influences balkaniques, de jazz et d’airs québécois. Les mélodies haletantes côtoient des improvisations inspirées, les mélopées poignantes se tapissent au creux des rythmes de danses et la virtuosité n’a d’égale que l’art d’émouvoir. Une prestation qui transporte au cœur des célébrations de l’Europe de l’Est et qui ferait frémir même un concombre de mer (nous l’avons testé). Bref, un spectacle qui a de quoi ébaubir!

Les musiciens:
Oktopus trio est formé de Gabriel Paquin-Buki à la clarinette, Matthieu Bourget au trombone basse et Pascal Demalsy à l’accordéon. Il s’agit d’une formation réduite constituée de musiciens particulièrement polyvalents, et qui reprend certains airs et l’esthétisme de l’octuor montréalais Oktopus. Gabriel se produit sur les scènes classique, world et jazz, avec une spécialisation dans la musique klezmer; un genre pour lequel il fait désormais figure de référence au Québec. Matthieu se produit tant avec des ensembles classiques comme l’OSM, Les violons du Roy ou l’Orchestre métropolitain, qu’avec des ensembles jazz, pop et world. Pascal possède quant à lui une formation comme organiste classique et parcourt désormais le monde avec son accordéon, se spécialisant dans la musique d’Europe de l’Est, le choro et le forró brésiliens, ainsi que le traditionnel québécois.
