What a great idea! I wonder if my husband really wants his leather coat?

My friend Brenda had on her blog one of the best hacks I’ve seen for needlepoint in years! Look carefully at the clamp. She has glued pieces of leather on both sides of the inside of the clamp. This provides cushioning for your stretcher bars. It also helps hold them firmly. Copyright secured by...

Please join our own Tracey Lawko for the webinar screening of the Reflections of Ourselves documentary video this Friday August 26 at 5:30pm ET. If you haven’t been able to get to Orillia to see the exhibition in person, this is a great way to experience it from home. Talented videographers have beautifully captured the installation, highlighting the wonderful leaves, and have included clips from the joyous opening reception and interviews with 14 leaf artists. See which of the 12 participating TGS members you can spot in the video!

You need to pre-register (there is a small fee of $5)... you can sign up here: https://www.orilliamuseum.org/event/reflections-of-ourselves-documentary-screening-premiere/

Be sure to tell your family and friends too!

Did you hear? There is an opening reception for Tracey Lawko, Reflections of Ourselves, a collaborative art project that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Canadians. The exhibition is at Orillia Museum of Art & History, 30 Peter St. S., Orillia, ON. May 28 – Sept 3, 2022 with the Opening reception being on Saturday May 28th, 1 – 3 pm. Over 100 Canadians have created a leaf in honour of their heritage, including 12 from TGS. The leaves hang from a textile tree and are as varied as their creators, each telling an individual story through different materials, techniques and imagery.
