☆ do what feels authentic to YOU
don’t just follow what others deem to be “right” in the planning process if they don’t suit your needs/preferences
☆ lead with love
getting married comes with a lot of unsolicited advice/opinions, but I like to believe that advice comes from a loving place
— everyone’s experiencing this life for the first time, so — be graceful towards yourself and others
— embrace what comes with a wedding - its your time!!!
☆ be as prepared as possible
moodboards for vendors, checklists ahead of the weeks leading up to ensure you are on track & also don’t forget anything
☆ don’t be afraid to delegate
it’s easy to want to do it all, especially when you have a set vision in mind, but the cliche ‘it takes a village’ is a cliche for a reason - there are lots of tasks you can pass off to people, and add yourself in for checkpoints if that helps
☆ work as a team
involve your partner in wedding decisions, and also prioritize your romantic relationship — dates before the wedding, spending intentional time together without wedding talk, etc.
☆ be present
this roots from gratitude - lots of money, time, energy goes into this from both the couple and their crew
the experience comes and goes very quickly; don’t let yourselves get caught up in what could, or did, go wrong - no one knows but you
— its a special day for everyone but this is YOUR day
— remember why you’re there: to be MARRIED!!!
