Happy New Year! To kick things off, we asked John from PRP’s AQA team to share a vinyl effect from 2025 that he thinks we’ll be seeing a lot more of in 2026.

His pick is a 2 Color A Side / B Side pressing with Cobalt (T3) and Silver Nugget (HB47), finished with Clear (T2) dot splatter for a subtle, ghostly look.

Joe is one of our talented press operators, and this year he got to press his favorite vinyl effect while working on press.

This one is a Color In Color record with Clear (T2) and Ruby (T1), finished with Silver (O11) and White (O2) splatter. A happy accident that turned into a standout effect!

Shan, our Color Program Lead, develops each blend with a unique name and its own backstory.

One of her favorite effects from this year is a Metallic Blend she named Gatsby (HB53), inspired by her husky. The color has a rich, reflective depth that really shines on press.

We partnered with Ray Of Light Records to bring their X Series: Vol 1 packaging to life, pressing the LP on our exclusive Candyland (MD74) mix.

Our in-house design team developed the visual identity by exploring layouts, colors and textures to create a cohesive look. The final design features retro futuristic gradients, distortion layers and a clean, unified finish.

We met Ian Fraser, owner of in Halifax, NS. Obsolete Records is both a shop and a record label, known for producing and repressing fan favourites and obscure titles on vinyl.💿⚡

Ian shared stories about his first repress catalog and spoke about why it’s important for record shops to take the initiative to reach out to artists to revive long-lost albums on vinyl.
