Omnipresence. This is something I heard a few weeks ago. I should have pressed a little harder on that. I should have focused on one platform rather than trying to be omnipresent. The problem is that I wasn’t too sure what the right platform for me was. I was confused by too much choice. But that’s ok… mistake made, I’m moving on. But use that to learn from what I did. I’m trying to find my customers online. More and more they are online, surfing when their kids head to bed. Which platform should I focus on? Cringe is my middle name! Getting started with posting is so hard. I started about a month after my training started, and my videos were so beginner. I looked awkward, sounded like cardboard, and I’m still working on sanding those edges and finding my story. I just kept learning, and kept posting. My awkwardness is going away, I’m getting less concerned about looking and sounding like everyone else and just celebrating who I am, where I’m at, and what I look like and sound like. Driving home today, an 18 wheeler had their 4 ways on for at least 2 kilometers!
Crazy dangerous. Driving in chronic ‘I’m freaking out’ mode or my “vehicle-is-broken-and-I’m-driving-on-a-busy-HWY” mode with your 4-ways on.
It led me to think about how business owners drive their businesses in chronic seat-of-your-pants mode. And they don’t set aside time to do professional development to keep their skills current and plan for future enrichment. I’ve been learning about creating a digital course that will allow me to help people learn via the e-learning space. One thing the course instructor asks is ‘What is your SUPERPOWER?” How many of us know what our super power is? What is the thing or set of things that you do really really well?I’ve been racking my brain, and have been swirling in my thoughts and mind about what it is that I do really really really well. Here’s my list: 1. I’ve been running a successful business for the past 12 years (we got through COVID!), 2. I’m really good with building a solid team that runs automatically without me needing to be there, 3. I’m great at working with people and teaching them how to be positive and joyful on their journeys, 4. I am a creative thinker, 5. I am a skilled illustrator and designer, 6. I know about and have practiced user experience design, 7. I love MATH, 8. I LOVE books, literature and learning 9. I’m crafty, 10. I like to knit, 11. I love cooking (although I do burn things a lot). I could go on… So how do I narrow it down?My husband says I also have the superpower to talk and put him to sleep. Ha. I’m not sure what my SUPERPOWER is yet, but I’m going to continue to think about it. I’m not quite ready to create a digital course, but one day I will be and Oh the Places I will Go… This $7 course has charted a path of personal and business growth for me.
