How things have changed! We used to spend many monthly dollars via Amex (on inventory) and never EVER got a gift from #americanexpress. Not even a #thankyouletter. We closed our doors 6 months before the pandemic voluntarily and haven't spent a dime on Amex since. And now we get #FREECOFFEE!? Too funny!! Here's a story to curl your hair: I went to dinner with the president of another #creditcard company (not Amex) and he throws around a fee rate they usually charge businesses. It was WAY lower than what I was paying. I said as much...something like "That's your rate? I am paying X." and he says, laughing, "oh yeah, we really hose our small businesses." I asked if I could get the rate he had mentioned just prior and he starts to realize that I AM SMALL BUSINESS so he's back tracking "No, there's a special rate for small business...I dont even manage that...its a totally separate...we need a higher rate for small business in order to make money..." and in the next breath he mentioned his wife liked the table at the restaurant so much they bought it and were shipping it out to California. #truestory.
