While the story made headlines across the U.S. and even inspired a made-for-TV movie, the infamous 1991 case of a murder-for-hire plot concocted by a Texas woman to eliminate her daughter’s cheerleading rival remains shrouded in mystery. Thirty years after Wanda Holloway’s conviction, "The Texas Cheerleader Murder Plot" examines what led to the events, and the aftermath.

The two-hour documentary features interviews with those closest to the crime, including Holloway’s daughter Shanna, who reveals her side of the story, as well as commentary from legal voices, law enforcement officers and reporters connected with the details of the case. The film also unpacks the impact the crime had on the country, exploring the way in which broadcast news—and popular culture at large—ultimately got it wrong.
