Big News!!!!
Drumroll please...we're delighted to announce that GABRIELLA SUNDAR SINGH will play the lead role of Nirmala, the young mother in our film. You may know her as the spunky Chelsea in Netflix’s hit comedy Kim's Convenience or seen her on Designated Survivor, Taken and other TV shows. On stage, Gabriella has performed in four seasons at the renowned Shaw Festival. She’s also a classically trained pianist, singer and Bharatanatyam dancer - classical South Indian dance.
Gabriella reflects, “To me, One Small Visit is about what it means to belong and the distances we go to find connection with others. I was drawn to Nirmala because of her journey of exploration of self, highlighted by the relationship with her mother and her daughter. She sees what came before her and what will come after. How does she know which risks are worth taking? I feel so connected to that part of her."
