Do you know what the most powerful weapon in the world is? Your Mind!

October 6-12 is Mental Illness Awareness Week.

Every time I sit here trying to write a post on mental illness awareness, I wish I could say something that will just make the world stop and take notice. I wish I knew the words to write that would just make the entire world shift and wash away all of the stigma. But even I know it’s just not that simple.

I’m not writing this as someone with all the answers—I sit here writing this, while my eyes are flooded with tears, as someone who knows what it’s like to drown in silence.

These past 6 weeks, I’ve been so sick. Drowning in a sea of anxiety, panic and depression. The pain at times has been unbearable- but I’m fighting through it. After all, what choice do I have? There are only 2, live or die.

This choice and this illness have shaped so much of my life in ways I can’t always explain. It’s like screaming underwater, hoping someone will hear you , but the world just keeps moving.

No, I don’t say this for attention, pity, or because I’m the only one going through something. I say this because we need to speak about it, and stories like this should be told and heard. It’s so we know that others struggle too, & we’re not alone.

Because this week isn’t just about awareness—it’s about survival. It’s about the people we’ve lost, the quiet battles being fought every single day by those who feel like they’re slipping through the cracks. “Access for All: Time for Action, Time for Change”—it’s more than a theme. It’s a plea.

Mental illness doesn’t care who you are, but the truth is, some of us are still left behind—without help, without hope. And it hurts. It’s heartbreaking. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

You are not invisible. You matter. And we can’t wait any longer to make sure everyone gets the care they deserve. Not someday—now. Because lives are on the line.

If you’re reading this, know that your struggle is real. You’re not broken. And I see you. Let’s make sure the world sees you too. This is your reminder: Mental health is health. You’re not weak for struggling. You’re human. And your story, your voice, your fight matters.
