Keep It Moving. After your audition or self-tape, it's done. You did what you had to do, now, it's no longer up to you.
You have to remember, this is just another day in the life of an actor. So try not to hang on to your audition or self-tape experience and don't allow yourself to re-watch it till much later.
Month's later if you really have to watch it.
Allow yourself to move on and remember that auditioning is just part of the process and it gets easier every time you do it.
If you are a YCAA actor, you’re not like other actors. You are prepared and confident in your work. Spend the last 30 minutes before your audition/self-tape visualizing your scene.
Breathe. Collect your thoughts. Focus on your character.
If you can only do one thing on the day of your audition, it should be to meditate. Give yourself time before your audition to mediate.
Allowing yourself the time to quiet your mind and get centered gets you out of your nerves and focused on the task ahead.
Run your lines continually in the time leading up to your audition. Going over the scene with someone else would be optimal, although finding a quiet space to rehearse alone works just the same.
Pro tip: Say Your Lines, But What Is Unsaid Is Much More Interesting.
A smart actor knows how to do “good” homework. Look up the playwright, the director, or the screenwriter, and get familiar with common themes in their work. Familiarize yourself with the show by watching a couple of episodes to get a sense of the style and tone.

Our YCAA Youth classes started in May and once a week, our youth artists got together for an hour to work on script analysis and figuring out how to properly decipher a script in order to move the plot forward. Each week, they would receive a new script to work on and analyze. Here's a short clip from our 10 and over group. Enjoy :)
