Life can be hard. We can’t always predict what will come crashing into our lives. Sometimes try as hard as we may, we can’t always pray the problem away. But while God doesn’t guarantee He will install stop any storm from raging in our lives, He does promise to be our refuge in the middle of our darkest days, weeks, and hours. Let the lyrics of this song from Skillet speak to you in the midst of your storm, check out the lyric video for it here: https://youtu.be/UAgc24Ae4HM?si=fozXy0Yn5ej-USTG

Our encounter with Jesus cannot be limited to just this one day. Jesus didn't come so we would just celebrate His birth once a year. Jesus came from heaven to earth to exchange His life for ours and when we believe, then we must follow Him 24/7/365. For many the holidays can be a challenging time. Maybe your life isn't what you expected or the plans for your Christmas have changed and you're questioning if you can still celebrate in the midst of it all. Well, as mentioned on this year's Christmas special, there are still ways we can celebrate even if we are sad, our traditions have been forced to take a backseat, or if we aren't able to be with the people we love. Here are some ideas of ways to still enjoy the Christmas season:

1. Go to a Christmas Eve service tonight and if you're unwell and can't attend in person, stream a service online.
2. Spend time reading about the birth of Jesus in the Gospels and ask God to give you some insight on what you're reading.
3. Plan a cozy day at home. Stay in your pj's, put on some hot chocolate and then watch a Christmas movie or make a puzzle.
4. Invite someone over who might also be alone at this time of year. It doesn't have to mean cooking a turkey, the company is what matters.
5. Go for a walk in the winter wonderland outside and encounter God in His creation.

What are some ways you celebrate the season, even when it's different from what you expected? Let us know in the comments below!

The majority of people living in Israel when Jesus was born, missed out on the miracle taking place in their backyard. They were so focused on looking for a king that would conquer that they missed out on the Messiah who would save. Read more about what we can learn from them in our recent Christmas Impact Devotional here: https://madradioshow.net/impactrejecting.html

"For centuries, the Jewish people waited. From the prophets of old, they had heard the promises of a King who would bring justice, restore the throne of David, and who would lead them into a new age of peace. We can only imagine that in the quiet of their homes, while sitting around the fire, or in the temple courts, they spoke of Him with anticipation. The Messiah. The Anointed One. The One who was their hope, even in times of hardship, difficulty, and despair.

But when the Messiah came, He did not come as they expected. The long-awaited Saviour, the One who they had prayed for, arrived in a way no one could have imagined. He was not placed into a crib in a Palace, but instead here was a baby laying in a manger likely in a barn, surrounded by the lowly and the outcast. His birth did not usher in peace in the land for those living under Roman oppression, no instead, the brutal reach of the empire went into homes and committed unspeakable acts of evil..."

Have you heard Matthew Parker's Christmas song Kindle yet? It sums up exactly what Christmas is all about. How our earth is clouded in darkness, but then a light emerged on that very first Christmas morning when Christ was born. Today while the majority of our world is walking in darkness, with Christ in our lives we get to encounter light and that light changes everything! Bringing peace, hope. and life no matter what the circumstances around us are.

Introducing MAD

In the summer of 2001, Kristen felt God's leading to start a youth radio show that would be aired in her hometown of Timmins, Ontario. With no on-air experience or any idea of how to put together a radio show, this seemed like a crazy idea, but sometimes the craziest ideas are the best ones. The MAD Christian Radio Show was aired for the first time in November 2001 on CHIM 102.3 in Timmins. For the next eighteen months, through the highs and the lows, the radio show reached youth in Timmins. Soon The MAD Christian Radio Show expanded to be played across the entire CHIM Radio Network. In September 2003, the radio show officially became syndicated and was offered free of charge to any station that wished to play it. Today the radio show has been on the air for over 17 years, is played in over seventy markets and is Making A Difference in lives around the world.
